Topic: How to keep the track playing after using a loop effect

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Ok so i want to make it so that after i do a loop or repeat or some kind of effect that is like a loop, the track will stay in time and in the same spot so i can create build ups and stuff like that and let go of the loop just as the drop hits. instead it just replays it. what is this effect called in the dj world anyway?

Just take the loop off and the song will continue to play
 
no it plays what ever is after the loop. i want it to keep up with where it was before the loop was started.

It sounds like you're describing a loop roll:

Ah. Maybe you're referring to 'slip' mode:

(That page only describes activating it for scratches, but I think it'll work with any effect though as long as 'slip_mode' is active and you are using the latest Virtual DJ v7.4).
 
oh sweet. so how do i download this effect? i have downloaded some from the site but i dont know how to add it into virtual dj!
 
what does slip mode even do?
 
 
If you have installed the latest version of VDJ you don't have to download the slip mode or loop roll effects.
They are already built-in.

It keeps the song position as if you did nothing, while engaging a loop, scratch etc etc. And at release of loop you will be at a position of the song, as if you never did a loop ..
