Sounds like your computer doesn't have enough balls to get the job done. Have you optimized your computer? Try turning down up the latency on your sound card too.

What sound configuration are you using? Also, why did you quote yourself?

Try this (this worked for me, this is how i start)
Unplug all usb connections to your computer, then start your computer... once on your desktop, plug in all usb one by one... once everything is plugged in, start VDJ...

Set latencys both, in vdj and asio driver, to 128 ms.
If ASIO driver doesn't work for you, use the WDM driver.

It's the standard Windows driver.

Laptops are cheap right now. $700 at best buy will get you a beast. I'm betting you can get the I3 you got to do the job though, just have to strip it down. I have a friend who was running a really old less powerful laptop with the Numark NS7. He had the same issue. After disabling some stuff and uninstalling everything we could it ran smooth enough to get the job done. Do some research on optimizing. I'm no expert, but I found that system restore kills performance. I disable that, and I don't have any antivirus installed on my computers either. You could also upgrade your ram. I'm using a Rain Livebook V2 ($2,500) for mobile stuff, but it's overkill, and a 4 year old custom built for my resident gigs. My older PC is starting to show its age and I will prob replace it soon and use it at home in the studio for my dirty work, like browsing the web.

I would not run out and buy a new computer right now. Have you done everything that was suggested above? People are running this software with smaller computers.

Factory reset will not kill all the bloat that comes with you laptop. You have to turn off services and features too. I've heard that the asio driver is an issue for lots of people. I didn't personally have any probs with it. Did you have the same problem with the windows driver?

Your computer is strong enough to handle 4 decks. However, you need to optimize your computer for best performance. http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Common%20PC%20Performance%20Issues.html
Selecting a higher latency (buffer) with ASIO drivers or using WDM drivers instead, may help as well, but optimizing your computer as above, is definitely something u need to do.

problem solved thanks to all the replys i had it did help to be honest dont really know what was the problem
but works fine now things i did
1, cussed a lot
2, cussed even more
3, formatted the hard drive on laptop
4 reinstalled windows 7 with all new updates
5 reinstalled VDJ pro 7,4
6 reinstalled asio drivers
7, reinstalled the last firmware for the denon dn-mc6000
8, downloaded the vdj pc optimizer
possible issue that i can only think of that may have been the problem
1, bug in VDJ
2, bug in asio drivers
3, bug in pc
4, bug in the denon firmware
5 , covers downloading to match the tracks
6, More than likely a 46 year dj not understanding it all properly
cheers all
