Native Instruments won't send any of their controllers to atomix so none of their controllers will ever get native support. It's not hard to define anything in midi and TechNZ has successfully mapped the Proprietary NHL HID that Native use on their controllers. If you contact him I'm sure he can help you get it sorted

90% of the X1 MK2 is the same midi note CC as the X1 MK1 Been trying to map mine to Mixvibes Cross. By changing the device identifier from X1 MK1 to MK2 you already have a definition file that is 90% ready only some buttons are located different and then the touch strip.

Can download the X1 mapper, for the X1 MK2 you will probably have to change a bit..
Mainly make a new definition file, but checking what values it sends :

I'll check with the guy that made the X1 mapper, he might be all for making the X1 mk2 mapper also ;)

I was able to map the device (remotely, using Teamviewer with a user) in MIDI. The unit is capable to operate in HID mode as well. Since the unit is not offering any Sysex value, it requires a drivername, which may differ from one OS to another (most likely there will be a different one on Mac side). So feel free to open a thread in the Hardware Forums if for some reason the unit is not properly detected.
The definition is not full though, as without any documents from the manufacture, it is hard to find all of the elements. So you will notice that the digits above the the encoders are not mapped, along with the leds above the Touch Strip.
The mapper is very basic. Not sure if the unit will be used exclusively for effects or rather as a mixer, so its your choice to map the device based on your personal preferences.
I will try to get a unit at my office next week, and provide a proper HID mapper for that.

Ok, ...getting closer but still no luck? ...VDJ Recognizes the Kontrol X1 MK2, and I can see all the mapping definitions. However, it is not responding to any of the actions?
This is what I got in my XML file when I open it in NotePad:

There's a post on DJTT that says the NI Controller Editor s/w is required to be able to map the buttons.
https://maps.djtechtools.com/mappings/769
Maybe it has something to do with it.

I download the NI Control Editor and there was no template for the NI Kontol X1 Mk2, ...only 4 variations of the Kontrol X1. ...if it is necessary, where can I download a Mk2 template for VDJ? Is it necessary when VDJ recognizes the controller and the mapping... It's just not responding to any actions?

Try putting it on #4
I saw a post (via Google) from someone who said he had to do that to get the X1 to work in Ableton Live.

Open Miditrace and select the Kontrol X1 from both the side lists (In and Out).
Do you get the same name in both lists (Traktor Kontol X1 MK2 - 1 ) ?
Do you receive any Midi notes (data) when pressing any button on the X1 or turning any slider ?
Have you turned the unit into MIDI mode ? (read the manual on how to.. if not mistaken, u need to press SHIFT+ the LOAD buttons)
PS. If vid/pid and drivername are present in the definition, sysex is not required for the unit to be properly detected. Not all MIDI units offer sysexid values.

Ok, ...finally!!! Got it to work, the controller was not in MIDI mode. Holding the shift button and the left & right load buttons put the controller in MIDI mode... Now it works... Thanks for uploading the mapping and thanks for all the tips... Highly appreciative :)
