Hello,
This is Mike B. But over the air I'm known as Digital Mike, or DM. I'm legally blind and have been researching about Virtual DJ Broadcaster, and I have a few questions:
1. Does Virtual DJ Broadcaster offer virtual carts to which the user can use to play station jingles and/or sound effects?
2. Can the Sam encoder plugin be used with Virtual DJ? While I do currently dj for a local college radio station within my community, I'm thinking about bringing my broadcasting tallents to the Internet airwaves, and broadcasting on an Internet-based radio station who calls themselves MushroomFM The Home of the Fun guys! so that people all over the world can hear my show. Some of the djs there are blind like me, others are fully sighted. But no matter what their vision statis, they all share the same thing in common, the love of great music. I ask about the Sam encoder plugin because I've heard, that djs can use it to record their shows as they go out over the web. MushroomFM uses Sam encoder to record or (archive) their shows so that they can then upload a podcast of the show to the station's website. This way, if someone misses the live broadcast, they'll at least have a podcast of it to which they can download and listen to later on. If Sam encoder can't work with this program, is there something similar to which I can use that would do the same thing? The important thing to the station management, is that their djs are able to make a podcast of their live shows so that they can upload them to the station's podcast system.
3. How does Virtual DJ Broadcaster handle voice tracking? Does the program allow the user to play a voice track over the intro of a song, without it getting in the way of the vocals?
4. As it sometimes happens, we have music playing over the air, and either someone comes in the studio to talk to us, or we get caught up in a conversation with a listener on the phone or on Skype, and forget that we have stuff playing. As you know, this can cause something we as djs all dread, (dead air). Does Virtual DJ Broadcaster have some kind of automation mode, that you can turn on and off, so that when and if necessary, you can leave the software unattended, and allow the tracks to crossfade automatically?
5. I know this might sound like a silly question, but can you create playlists with this software?
I don't own a copy of Virtual DJ Broadcaster yet, for now, I'm just researching the software and trying to find out as much as I can about it in advance to see if it would be a good fit for me. I've been broadcasting with the college radio station for 13 years now, so I'm not exactly a biginner, but at the same time, I'm not a professional either, and I'm very new to broadcasting online. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. Digital Mike piece out!
