Topic: Pioneer Announces The New XDJ-R1 Wireless DJ System! With VDJ LE - Page: 3

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

In regards to software Yes they should work the same....... You could just go to the Pioneer site and compare the 2, plus it's actually kinda hard to know how it'll work when it's not even released yet.

Pioneer did say June, and there's only a week (working days) left of it...

They also said that VDJ LE for the R1 would be available from "middle of June" at pioneerdj.com but there's no sign of that either.

Yesterday my XDJ-R1 arrived.
Nice, I'm very happy with it.

It strikes me that there is no title and time information on the display of the XDJ-R1 displayed when playing a track in VirtualDJ.
This was the Pioneer MEP7000 possible and this is very convenient.

Am I doing something wrong or is this feature not available for the XDJ-R1?

Few questions if you would not mind entertaining them please:

Are you using it with the LE software it came with or with Pro?
Have you tested it out with just using CD or USB? if so, how is the response time with regards to scrolling and looking for tracks?
Does the control from tablet as responsive as the video put out by Pioneer?

I am looking into getting it, but want real world reviews first. :D

thanks!!

This is the type of controller that I'm actually looking into, not necessarily the pioneer, but the ones that are stand alone units. I love the fact that you can use it with a lap top, or not, should you decide to spin right off your USB flash drives. The pioneer unit is a bit out my range, so I'm looking into the Gemini GMX, which hopefully will be out soon.

I'm not sure what to think about this controller now I did want one but if it cannot display the information from VDJ like track information track time what's the point this controller would have been my dreams come true. If there's not a wat to fix or to address these issue I may need to pass on this one. I'm not sure but I hear rumors that it may work with Serato DJ in the future. Maybe the information will be displayed with Serato DJ. I'm still a virtual dj man at heart so I will probably pass on this control.

I worked with Pioneer on this unit. I did the integration of the device/mapping files for the LE that it ships with. By Pioneer's own choice it is technically not possible. The firmware does not communicate to the displays. So, if Pioneer changes the displays and changes the firmware to make it possible then we will update the support for the unit.

The more I hear the more that Mixdeck quad with an iPad Sounds even better........... Nice attempt but I'm not sold.

Hi all, a DJ friend of mine has just bought the X1 and he wants to try out virtual dj on it (after my recommendation of course!), but how can he get the virtual dj LE version? It's not on the CD that came in the box with his R1. Any ideas?

It's available for download from the XDJ-R1 support page on pioneerdj.com

He will need the serial of the LE version (usually placed on the sleeve of the LE Disc). If his device came with no LE version for any reason, he will either need to purchase Pro Full version or test the device using the Home Free version (with multiple 10min sessions).

Pioneer website offers the LE version for download, but still a serial is required on launch.

And yet info was displayed on the dac 2 in 1999, strange.

Just bought this beautifull piece of equipmment, and I am very very happy with it.

Contsruction in overall very good, the buttons have a very nice touch and the wheels and faders are hard to move, as I like it.

I am trying to go digital, but having a bit of problem.

I have a laptop, on wich I am running virtual DJ LE (just made the 20days trial to the pro version), and I can't seam to get the phones to work well.

I have the unit in midi mode, so I can start/pause the tracks, mute them or appky filters.

I just can't get the headphones to wrok as they should.

If I want to hear the track, I hae to open the sound slider of that track to hear it on the headphones, but taht obvisouslly also send the sound to the speakers.

I have the xdj-r1 and the pc connected with the midi cable on the usb ports..

Can I have one track playing out loud, and listen to the other track on the headphones only, or is this a software limitation?

Thanks

Zorza

For those of you who have it...what do you think of it? Is it usable for long club shifts? Has the freezing issue been fixed?

Can you please define what u mean by freezing issue ?
