Hey guys....
Looking for a plugin that will shuffle or randomly pic a pic when using a slidshow plugin. Have been looking on the forum but did not see one, maybe I'm not looking in the right place?

Pretty sure that doesn't exist, but you could always ask someone to make one. I'd use it if it existed.
 
Essential Media 2.5 can do a variety of images types but it uses the media items stored in a pak file and not directly off of disk drive yet.

pak files can contain up to 48 images, video, or audio files and they can be loaded at any time. I think you are talking about a slide show from folder which I have not gotten around to. You need to create a pak file by drag/dropping the images on to EM that you want to use. You can create as many pak files as you want.

After pak is created, you can choose to run it manually, sequentially, or randomly. It will run as a automated slide show in sequential or random mode. Works with audio, video, or image files and any combination of.

Supported image types include gif, animated gif, png, animated png, bmp, jpeg, targa, tif, emf, wmf, and more.

EM 2.5 will be up soon.
 
I don't remember which Windows OS version for the picture viewer I used before (might be XP).

But I remember there was one that I used and had an option to RAMDOMIZE the slide show with Transition Effect like Fade.

This might just work out for you at the moment until something comes along (VDJ Plugin wise).
 
I just tried on my other PC with XP, it's not XP. So, it might have been Win98.

It was a long time ago.
 
Im on Win8 now and tried the Viewer, it does RAMDOM slideshow but no effects. Maybe that's good enough for you. I don't know if you can throw the display on a second monitor.
 
When I run picture slideshows I simply use Windows desktop slideshow feature. Unfortunately if you load a video or clipbank you can't go back to it without restarting VDJ, but it has worked for me;^]
 
This feature has been available in Firetext admin for some years now, you can use png, jpeg etc.

the feature your asking for VDJ has that just open VDj go to effects then copy slideshow then paste rename slideshow 2,set of folder with your pic in I just have about 30 pic or less in each folder so VDj can make a smooth Delay to the next pic And Pangolin I use it with LIVE texting( see & say ) at my sunday gig and they LOVE it,ck the Download page and plugins and try some.
 
He needs random choice do the others have that, if they do he's spoilt for choice then.

EM 2.5 which is due to be up any day now, also allows for any type of image and audio only files. Any of these can mixed or matched. You can save and load pak files at any time. EM handles any kind of audio format with up to 8 channels. All channels are converted accurately to stereo if need be.

EM 2.5 transitions include no transition, fade separately, and crossfade. These transitions work for all audio and video. So audio will fade in and out as well as video. The transition type is saved with a pak file so different paks can have different transitions. The transition type can be changed at any time.

I don't believe there is any other program on any platform that can playback as many media formats as EM 2.5 can.

I did not find the rotation / random option THX!
 
On the Media tab in Essential Media, you can select Autoplay, Random, or Manual. Its called Movies tab on older version. Media tab on EM 2.5

Autoplay plays thru the pak sequentially

Random plays the pak files randomly.

email me if you want to try an EM 2.5 beta but autoplay and random are available on older versions as well. EM 2.5 add images and audio only files to the mix.
