Topic: Drag loop to another deck or smapler to clone it

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

A friend has "another brand" Dj software. The interface looked allot like the VDJ 6 deck skin. When he wants to use more than 2 decks, he can set his loop and drag to another deck (like clone). Instantly freeing up deck 1 or 2, to get the next track in.

It was like a clone but from what I remember it moved the loop to the other deck. Unlike clone which would double it and make it so that you would have to fade out the deck that you are trying to free up.

This seems like a much needed feature as I find more than 2 decks a little too combersome to go live with for now (on my NS7).

Here's what I use,

Down ? Deck 1 select & Deck 1 loop & sampler 1 rec & sampler 1 play & sampler 1 beatlock : deck 1 loop

I use timecodes so I turn beatlock off or else it does funky things with the samples, you can remove it if you want beatlock on.

Um, i would make it a keyboard short cut... that is scripted to do that in a second and throw it to a sample that you have looped turned on.. it can be done as I was playing with the idea.. little over my head this week...

Um that's what it does........

Pretty sweet map command, hope to give it a try Sunday (pc is packed up). Thanks for the suggestion! Could be a pretty cool work around for now.

That would be awesome to be able to free up a deck just by dragging a playing track from the deck to a sampler button, and the sampler button takes over the sound (but maybe not change the output channel). It would also be very cool if I could drag the master to a sampler. Let´s say I am playing two, or more tracks and maybe a sample at the same time. Then I could drag this mix to a sampler button and free up a couple of decks. The new sample should then just carry on playing whatever would have been playing from the decks, no matter if it´s loops, or complete tracks.

Very good idea!!
