The aim is to try and reduce the amount of gear and the amount of setting up required to do a gig. So, no external hard drive, soundcard, mixer or controller - all in one box! It uses a touchscreen for most controls, and physical buttons and faders for the most often used controls.
I've mocked it up using the excellent touchscreen skin from here - I need to modify it a bit to add an on-screen keyboard, but it's almost there.

Looks really good mate. I would like to use something like this for the same reasons you have listed.

I work for Bosch on the Automotive side. Try having a look at there hardware (DCU130 & KTS670), may give you some other ideas.

will keep a look out for how your getting on.

Always wanted to do this, well just the MIDI controller part. I love the stuff you cats come up with.
