Hey ya'll needing a little help as complete newbie to scene.
Just bought some numark ndx 200's with a m1 mixer. Having trouble beat matching with jog wheel and pitch however, and seems one of the cdj pitch controllers is playing up.
I have used virtual dj for a while and I'm wondering if i can hook it up to virtual dj using a aux to usb cable as I need something to help me auto sync, as I want to learn to beat match but auto sync would be helpful sometimes.
Thanks

As far as beat marching it takes 3 things .... Practice, Pratice, Practice.... I have been djing for quite a while now (celebrating 30 years this year) and I STILL am learning differnt tricks. Knowing your music is key as much as reading a crowd. Practice at home and get a few good ones under your belt. Dont get discouraged the first time it doesnt work. Record every session then listen back to it. repeat the process till you have it down then expand S L O W L Y ...
As far as your gear goes maybe others could help in that angle. We are here to help. Check out the mix lessons forums a wealth of knowledge is there.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Dj ing.

AUX to USB will not work. You need what is known as a "4 in 4 out Soundcard" such as a MAYA 44, Serato SL Box, Traktor Audio 4, and many others (look in the products / hardware section of this page for other ideas).
To this box (soundcard) you connect both your cd players, this soundcard then sends the audio signal to your computer and matches that signal (known as timecode) to the tracks you are playing and sends it back (as separate channels) to the soundcard, the soundcard sends those two separate channels to the mixer where you can select which track left or right you hear.
Setting this up can get a little confusing if you do not understand the concept, specially if you do not have an up to date registered software.
Hope it helps. Cheers!

Thanks guys. So basically all I need is a 4 in 4 out sound card and I can use virtual DJ to give me a auto sync button and fully work with my cdjs? Thanks.

SYNC will only work for songs (MP3, etc.) being played in VirtualDJ.
I.e: If you are using your CDG's to control VirtualDJ via timecode (See http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Timecode%20Requirements.html ) or MIDI/HID (Newer models only), then you will be able to use SYNC.
If you are just playing normal audio CD's and routing the sound through VirtualDJ via AUX, then SYNC will not work. There's no way that VirtualDJ can control the CD players in any way to do this. For audio CD's, SYNC will only work if the CD player has this capability built into it for audio CD's.

Right im starting to understand now..so if I set up a 4 in 4 out virtual DJ can't control bpm or sync of each cdj deck.

Thanks for responses

what the teamer means is that you can sync any music that is played through timecode from vdj, what they were saying also is that vdj gives you the capability to send a cdj signal to vdj as a line in, this allows you to use the software mixer, effects and record the input.
If you are sending anything but time code you cannot sync the decks

sorry, so if i used time cod cd's I could sync the beats together from each deck on vdj and see the bpm etc.
As I have just bought my first set of decks, and the pitch controller doesnt seem to be working and i am struggling to beat match at all so sync would be helpful for at the moment.
