Topic: Monitor Speakers In Checked Baggage On Flights

-Has anyone Done it?

-Were There Any Issues?

-Reccomendations?

-Should I Contact The Airline, Or The Transport Agency To Be Sure?

The flight is From Toronto to Prague, the return is from Paris, and It's with a School Group. There are plans for some "student meetings" in various hotels along the way. I've been asked to be prepared for them in the way that I would need to for hotel room parties, and keep it under wraps from the teachers (for obvious reasons). The Speakers I'd be taking would most likely be Numark NPM5s, and the last thing I want is to be stopped be security right before getting on the plane because some baggage handlers don't know what audio equipment looks like.

If the monitors are not big, put them inside your carry on bag and take it with you on the plane. To make sure you can carry it with you, You ask security agents, Not baggage handlers. The Baggage handlers have nothing to do with security. If you have to check the speakers in with the luggage, Make sure you pack well because the airlines are not responsible for damage. Bags do get thrown around. They go thru The luggage handler on the ticket counter, Then put on the Conveyour, Then down to the Baggage piers and then loaded to a cart. Now they get tarnsported to the plane and then loaded inside the plane. Its a proces of loading and unloading from many different people.
