That somewhat depends on what amp you want to use or - which is what I think most folks will recommend is going with powered tops and no external amp. Some things we will need to know before making recommendations:
1. Budget
2. Size of events
3. Type of music most likely to be played
PS: there are lots of posts about what speakers to buy you might learn a lot on your own by searching out what has already been discussed ;)
After reading the owners manual for your controller you will also need an external multichannel soundcard in order to hear your cue channel through headphones - lots of choices there too.

Unless I am mistaking that Controller does not have any Outputs. You will have to use the outputs from your PC/MAC to go into a soundcard or splitter then run to your amps.
Soundcard is preferred or you will not be able to listen to your cues before sending them to the House Speakers.

I used that same controller for a while and used a native insturments "audio 2 DJ" sound card. you can pick them up for around $99.00 on line, this will allow you to prelisten to tracks as well as output to your amp.

If your mixer don't have a soundcard I would go with the Audio2DJ I haven't used it but have heard nothing but great things about it for a few years now...

Hi mate
As has been mentioned. To fully realise the functions of VDJ with full stereo and Headphone cuing you need to use (If you use a Laptop) An external USB soundcard with a minimum of 2 stereo outputs (4 Channel) or (If you use a PC an onboard multi channel sound card) Most PC surround sound 5.1 or higher on board cards will work reasonably well.
As you are an LE user you may also find that the version of the software you are using will need to be upgraded. Many of the features which allow you to use other external equipment may not be available on the software you are running.
If using a laptop you can however configure your VDJ to send the two deck signals to one of the onboard sound channels and the cue signal to the other. The deck output will only be mono but it can get you started. To do this you would also need a cable (Called a Y splitter) which plugs into your laptops headphone jack and gives you two mono plugs or sockets which you can use. One would be for the mix/deck output and the other would be for your HP cue signal.
Spend some time checking out the Wiki/User manuals (Found under the COMMUNITY tab on the home page). The instructions are all there. If you still have problems and can't get up and running then post your issues along with detail on exactly what you are using. Someone will be happy to help you get going.
We can cover the amp and speaker choice once you have your computer and software running the way you want it.
Good luck

hiya mate, beng an experienced user of the mp3 e2 i can help you out.
ill guide you through the entire setup process so you can get yourself up and running asap.
to connect your speakers, its a simple as this (depending on your amp inputs)
buy one of
3.5mm jack to 2 phono cable
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3-5mm-Stereo-Jack-2-RCA-Phono-Audio-Cable-Lead-2m-/160602627390?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item2564a99d3e
or
3.5mm jack to 1/4" jack
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3-5mm-STEREO-Jack-2x-6-35mm-1-4-MONO-Plugs-Cable-2m-/360270784865?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item53e1cfe961
once you have the correct lead, plug the 3.5mm into your laptops headphone socket and the other end into your amp and connect your speakers
thats it for hooking up your amp and speakers, if you would like to monitor with headphones, then you will need a secondary usb soundcard or usb headphones. i suggest if your on a budget, to buy this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/USB-External-3D-5-1-Channel-Audio-PC-Sound-Card-Adapter-/250653586204?pt=UK_Computing_ComputerComponents_SoundCards&hash=item3a5c1e331c
i use that myself so i know it works fine. once you have that, pop over to my profile and read the headphone setup and usage guide in my blog.
hope this helps.
