Topic: How to use the Hercules RMX with virtual DJ LE and 2 turntables

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Dear,

I'm searching already for 2 hours to find a way to mix with 2 turntables (NOT timeless, just ordinary vinyl) as input.
I'm using the hercules RMX dj console as a mixer and virtual dj (which I do actually not need since I can not use the functionalities when working with vinyl).

The problems I'm having are:
1) One signal is coming through and I can play with the high and low tones etc, but the volume is way to low and appears only in the left box and headphone.
2) The other signal is much louder but can not be controlled with the mixer.
3) To get a clear sound, I have to put one signal on Phono and the other on Line in.

Could you please help me, I'm getting seriously frustrated.

I've updated to Virtual DJ PRO and it is still not working. Can somebody help me. Ik did pay enough right now to start mixing I believe :)

You'vve updated to VDJ PRO FULL , correct ? This is the only version that support MIDI controllers.

Before anything, are the 2 turntables identical (i.e the samme model) ?

Most will send a phono signal, so this is what should be selected as input type on the back of the Rmx, but if you have any doubts, take a look at the manual for the other tunrtable for information on that subject.

With that settled, go to the DJ control panel, to the Advanced tab, and be sure that Hardware Mixing is set to USB Streaming 1-2 (Default).

Next, launch Virtual DJ, go to the setup menu, and apply the following audio configuration:

Input : Line-Ins

Output(s): Headphone

Soundcard: DJ Console Rmx

Finally, on the controller, press the Source button for each deck. From this point, you will be able to control level, apply EQ and FX to each deck as if you were using a standard hardware mixer.

hi,

i have been using virtual dj 5 with hercules rmx but my laptop blew up so i have just bought a new mac and bought the new virtual dj 7 but im still wanting to use the hercules rmx, but it wont come up when i plug it in and start virtual dj.

any help would be great thanks.

Hey I know this might sound stupid but did you remember to download the software for the mixer itself?

My Hercules DJ Console RMX is not working with my virtual dj pro version downloaded on my mac from this website..when the usb is plugged in the controller lights up a few times so I know it's not the cord or the controller. What configurations do I need to use is order to get a response?

It might have been better to start your own thread then add to one that hasn't been active for a year and does not related to your problem.

That being said...

First, please just confirm that you are using VDJ PRO FULL, as PRO BASIC does not allow the use of MIDI controllers, which would explain your problem.

If however you are using PRO FULL, then:

- Make sure your console is installed correctly, using the most recent driver (v4.58):

http://ts.hercules.com/faqs/eng/her_eng_00351.pdf

- Once done, the Rmx should be automatically recognized as a controller in the MAPPER tab of the configuration menu of VDJ.

- As for audio, use the following configuration:
