Hey everyone. I am trying to decide between controllers and want to know others input on the two controllers and which they think is better. I want to be able to try to mix songs and try to get that vinyl scratch when i transition from song to song. I have been djing now for a few months and have been getting better with mixing but I am at the point where I need a controller to help me with scratching and mixing in songs. What do you think is the better controller and which one do you think is best for scratching/mixing.
Thanks for any input!

4mx, for 100 bucks more you can use it as a soundcard, controller, etc...

The Hercules controllers are very nice, I used an MK2 from Herc for years.
But, I prefer the Numark MixTrack Pro; feels great, sounds great and the price is great.
You should try to get your hands on these for a demo, maybe your local shop has them. See which feels best to you.
And if you go with the Numark controller make sure you find one bundled with VDJ LE. Traktor is fine software but VDJ is better and you get discount if you plan to buy pro version later.
Good luck,
T

Though I have the utmost respect for Numark products, with regards to your question about the two models you allude to, I would have to recommend the 4 RMX. One of the appeals that I can't ignore is the build quality of this newest Hercules controller. It also is a four-deck controller (unlike Mixtrack Pro). I don't know if four-deck ability appeals to you or not, but I know for myself in using four decks that my mixing takes on a whole new level of creativity in one's sets. You pay a little more for 4 RMX but you get more for your money. Word has it--I've seen and read a lot of reviews--that the controller platters are on the Hercules model are among the best out there (though I am impressed with the platters on the Mixtrack as well, but that is not a strong enough selling point for me on the Mixtrack).

Another plus for the Hercules 4MX would be the ability to do time codes with turntables or CDJs due to the fact that the 4mx has a 4in 4out built in sound card. However, the Mixtrack Pro looks great for the price and they have been getting good reviews, specially on the platter response.

Hercules Console 4 Mx is built solid for the long haul, knobs, faders, buttons all solidly made in a compact unit, this is no plastic toy.....you could even use it as a ladder and it won't break......seriously it has good sound quality and it's a good buy...
