Hello,
Is is posible to add an Automix Type? It's for a non-stop radio station.
I want the current song to fade-out for abt. 4 seconds, but after three seconds the next song must start at max. volume, without fading in.
Fade-out (remove outro) -> Start next at max. volume (remove silence)
-or-
Fade-out (remove silcence) -> Start next at max. volume (remove silence)

in automix mode, you can customize the intro and outro cue points and select exactly how you want them to act..

Thanks for reply.
When I choose Fade (Remove intro/outro), it starts to fade-out at the outro of the current song, wich is perfect.
But... It also removes the intro of the next song, and that's not wat I want. I want the "remove silence" option for the next song, without fading in, but start at max volume.
Like Automix Type "Non-stop Radio"

This u have to do on every song, set the points and save them.( a lot of work )
And be very carefull with new installations or your work will be lost.
so its not just dropping a load of songs in the playlist hit play and go and sit in the garden,
it will cost u a lot of work to set the songs as u want them.

Fade-out is fine, but it's still FADING-IN, that's not wat I want...

1.) how to do this is in the manual.. its little involved so I would suggest you read that section and practice with it first..
2.) automix needs to be set to "smart" and will then go by what you have set the automix cue points to do..
3.) the automix cue points need to be set up correctly for this to work..
their is NO "button" that will do the work for you, sorry.. though VDJ can do automixing, and is pretty powerful once setup correctly, it is still primarily a "live performance" DJ software..
If you do a lot of "automixing" I would suggest Mixmeister as an alternate DJ software. (which was built from the ground up for DJ's that automix)

Hello,
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't VDJ already 'knows' when the song starts by reading the value of RealStart in the VirtualDJ database?
So the automix cue points for all songs are correctly set yet. I just want an extra 'automix type'.
- Fade-out the current song at the outro, just like the current Fade(remove intro/outro)
- While fading-out, after abt. 3 seconds, start the next song at "RealStart" without fading in
That's why I posted this in 'Wishes and new features'...!
Bert.

I realize that. but i thought it might be usefull for you to have a "workaround" handy while you wait...
Some suggestions become reality pretty quickly while others may take years before their implemented..
it all depends on the difficulty to program and/or the interest & demand of the users..

I would like to add that I would really like to see this fade style in VDJ7 Pro as well. Fade out at the exit point, and start unattenuated at the start point. Call it like bmulder suggests.
Hippydog: regarding your workaround: I've been trying to play around with the custom points, but I seem to be unable to set the allowed transition type to fade for one, and cut for another. They can be switched at one time, but exit and entry do not seem to be changeable independently (using v7.0.5b). Is there any more specific instruction that I can try in the meantime? Thanks anyway.

Click and drag point to new location intro or outro while on next cue where you can see the points on the bottom track that needs to be adjusted, so you'll have to load a track in front of the track you need to tweak in the playlist for this to work...it's just another way you can try....

I have been after something like this for years .... maybe when the outgoing track fades below a specified decibel level the next track will start. If the track playing stops dead then the next one starts instantly behind it (with no fade).
This would be like some radio station automation software I played with a few years ago.

What kradcliffe describes is exactly what I mean.

Hey
since there is currently no other way to mix songs earlier with automix than the distinctive 16s I used the set entry and exit points for each song manually (via bpm button).
It seems like these are automatically saved and even tho there are lots of pros for this I would like to reset them to the original points. Is there an easy way for doing so or do I have to manually reset the exit and entry points again?
Thanx a lot. Hope the next virtual DJ version will have a more detailed automix function.
