I was hoping for a fix with the issue I found back a few years back when I was using VDJ v5.2.1 Pro with the SSL Crates not showing in VDJ.
Here's what I captured back then as a work around however, I would like to know if any others out there have successfully been able to load their SSL Crates in VDJ without having to do any work arounds....and if so, why do you think I can't see my SSL Crates even though I have a check in the "Show Crates" within the "Browser" of the Config.
=============================================
VDJ version 5.2.1 Pro, and I believe all previous versions, think that the default folder for the SSL Crates are in .ScratchLIVE folder. Well, this may have been the case at one time with SSL, but with the recent version of SSL....this is no longer the case.
The default SSL version 1.8.2 for the SSL Crates are in _ScratchLIVE_
To get your SSL Crates to recognize in VDJ, you must copy all contents of files and subfolders from _ScratchLIVE_ and paste them into the .ScratchLIVE folder.
I have tested this out and it works. No need to change paths of files etc. Just copy and paste the files and subfolders and ensure that you have VDJ set up in it's config to read Crates and you're good to go.
One catch to this....you must continue to copy and paste the contents as indicated above whenever you make changes to your SSL Crates.
The Fix to this...VDJ needs to change their code, in future updates, to reflect the correct SSL Crates folder so we no longer have to do this work around.
Post up if you have any further questions and also, please post up if you too got it to work.
I only have my music stored on my external drives...so I know this works with external devices.

All I ever did was go into config, then the browser tab and make sure "Show Crates" was checked. I too have my music and videos on external drives.

Thank you Huey, what version of VDJ did you start with in which you brought up your SSL Crates in?

Huey, please do me a favor....and see if you have a SSL folder titled ".ScratchLIVE" and/or a folder titled "_ScratchLIVE_".
Thanks Huey.

Mmm....think the issue with my crates is that I've committed to using a Mac and after some research on the net...it appears that the issue with the SSL crates not showing in VDJ has something to do with the Mac OS.
The work around I did put together was while I was using my PC. Go figure...

I am having the same issue. I have all of my Serato crates on an external HFS+ Western Digital Mac Drive. I'm using Mac OSX Lion with Virtual DJ 7.05 and when I check 'Show Crates' I still don't see any of my Serato crates. Does anyone have a fix for this?
