I am a TSP user. I know a couple of people that play out with VDJ/CUE. I want to be able to DJ some while I'm at their parties. I have EVERYTHING I need to do this EXCEPT a full version of VDJ. If I bought a OEM version from a re-seller would it be possible for me to upgrade to VDJ 7? I don't want to spen $300 on something I will only use a few hours a week. But, I also don't want to use a crack either. If there are any mods that see this, is there a way to do this? I have an Audio8 DJ, 3 sets of TSP vinyl, (will buy a set of VSJ and Serato vinyl), and a beastly laptop to work with. Is there a non-transferable education version that will lock to my laptop? ANYONE, PLEASE HELP!

Hey WillBlaze. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "You bought an OEM version from a re-seller", but to the best of my knowledge licences are not transferable. So if you bought it off someone second hand, I'm afraid you're not going to be able to register your copy.

If you are looking to purchase a 'hardware' device that comes with the OEM Limited Edition (LE) then upgrade to the Pro version - you will be pretty much buying the PRO at full price. The only way you would 'save' is if you find a good hardware deal where they have lowered the price on the product do to a 'inventory' sale.
But you say you are willing to purchase a "beastly" laptop - talk with several here and you will find you don't have to go 'beastly' to get what is needed. You don't say much about what you are going to use VirtualDJ for - Audio only or Video and Audio. But you may find that you will have the funds to purchase the full PRO version and a laptop that does the job. Your existing system you run TSP on may already be enough??
You can try out the FREE Home edition if you like to see if your system has what you need - http://www.virtualdj.com/download/free.html

You can buy Numark Cue and then crossgrade to VDJ if you want.
You can also buy a controller that comes with a limited version of VDJ or Cue and then upgrade if you want.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I ALREADY have a laptop, 1200's, mixers, multiple sets of needles, multiple sets of headphones, multiple sets of control vinyls, and TSP. Upgrading to TSP2 next month. DIDN'T buy an OEM copy of VDJ, but there are some places that have them, VDJ 5.0 was the newest version I saw. My question is: Can I LEGALLY upgrade to FULL VDJ 7 WITHOUT a hassle. Just need to be able to get on VDJ for 30 to 45 minutes a couple of times a week without sounding completely ass! Could EASILY get a crack but I don't want one. TRYING TO BE A GOOD CITIZEN HERE. $300 is a steep price to pay when all I need is VDJ/CUE. Is there an educational version that's available? would HATE to buy a controller just to get VDJ. Any help or opinion is GREATLY appreciated.

So are you looking to use VDJ for video then since you will be upgrading to Tracktor 2?
The only place you can buy a legitimate copy of VDJ is this website or packaged with hardware. Any legitimate retailer has the Numark Cue brand which is essentially the same product.
Once you have purchased the PRO version of the software, upgrades to future versions are free of charge. $300 is a one time fee and a very small price to pay to continually make money with the software.

AC

Don't even want video. Just want to be able to PRACTICE on VDJ so when my friends play out I can cover them on bathroom breaks, smoke breaks, and quick trips to the car with groupies. It's ridiculous that I can buy the Hercules I/O box WITH VDJ, control vinyls and control cd's for $250, but they want $300 dollars just for VDJ! WOW! Who is their marketing staff? I guess I will just have to fake it on VDJ and DESTROY on TSP2. Oh well, I tried.

A Limited Edition (LE) comes with the Hercules hardware. If you purchase it, you will be entitled to a considerable discount on the Pro version.

Already did that. Need to be able to use TCV. Sticker drift and latecy are different on every DVS. Need to see how responsive VDJ is. I can learn the effects and everything else, but NOTHING'S like vinyl. Maybe i will pick up one of those $79 controllers then upgrade. JUST DON'T WANT BOOTLEG PROGRAMS ON MY COMPUTER, WOULD RATHER PAY FOR IT. Remember......everything that's free.......AIN'T!

The two versions of VDJ are very different. The bundled version is LE, the full version is Pro.

I know there is a full version and a LE. I saw The Hercules box with a FULL version of VDJ for $250. I believe it was on Musician's Friend. It's a moot point now anyway. I Will just stick to TSP2. Thank you to all that tried to help.

Hercules DJ Consoles come with a limited DJ Console Edition of VirtualDJ, not the full VirtualDJ Pro, but they can be upgraded to the full Pro at a discount (50% in the case of RMX, Steel, MK4 and 4-Mx.)
There is also a Hercules DJ Trim starter pack that includes timecode sound card, records+CD's and VirtualDJ LE that supports timecode use.
VirtualDJ Pro is not sold in stores, but you may be able to find Numark Cue (And possibly Numark VirtualVInyl), which is a boxed Numark branded version of VirtualDJ Pro and is the full software.
NOTE: The only versions of the software that support timecode use are the full VirtualDJ Pro, Numark Cue, Numark VirtualVInyl and the above Hercules DJ Trim starter version.

Hey guys i have just purchased a wego2 2nd hand and i believe that i need a OEM Licence number to download virtual dj, is this correct?

You can purchase a VDJ 8 controller license which will allow you to use VDJ 8 just with your specific controller for private/personal use, or you can buy a monthly subscription or a full Infinity license to use VDJ 8 professionally.
To just try the software out, you can download VDJ 8 and use it without a controller (the Home version) or trial it with the controller for 10 mins at a time.

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone is able to help me out; I purchased A Numark Mixtrack 2(II) (without Audio I/O) and in store (Guitar Center) the sales associate told me they no longer come with CD's to install VDJ LE. I found out I can download it with use of my OEM/Serial Code of the product, the thing is I'm having trouble finding said OEM/Serial Code. Inside the box came the controller itself, Numark Mixtrack 2(II) User Guide, Safety Instructions, and USB cable. Anyways thanks in advance.

I think you want to contact numark, they'll give you a VDJ LE licence code based on your HW serial number, maybe, ?
Posted Thu 02 Apr 15 @ 9:50 pm
Well, the salesman in Guitar Center probably needs to check Numark's website. http://www.numark.com/product/mixtrack-ii
Mixtrack II comes bundled with VirtualDJ LE and a VirtualDJ LE Keycode should be included.
There is a chance though that Numark stopped including CDs and you may need to register the serial number of the unit in order to get the VirtualDJ LE Keycode and VirtualDJ LE.
If that is the case, then the serial of the unit should be at the bottom
