Topic: Adding CDJs to Hercules RMX

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I apologise for this post as I know there are plenty of these which may be annoying for some, but I cannot find a clear cut answer for this. I am looking to add 2 Numark NDX200 CDJs to my hercules rmx. I am only a beginner so just looking to expand.

These CDJs do not have USB capabilities but I am under the impression that I can use timecode CDs so that I can play MP3s on them. Would it just be a case of plussing the CDJs into the hercules rmx?? Whats the process of combining the two??

download and burn the timecode files from this site.
on the vdj setup tab set your imput to timecodes and your soundcard to RMX...

hope it helps

Simple easy answer.

Thanks very much, I just wanted to be clear before comitting to buy items :)

Can cdj 200 be used w/ the hercules rmx?

Yes, Cdjs 200 can be used with the rmx.

the above seems rather simple, I have 2 x Gemini CDJ600's and have been looking to use them with the laptop for a while now and want to find the best solution. Instead of the RMX going into the amp, can it instead go into an external mixer? Just thinking of if this set up was used in a club and they already had an external mixer hooked up to the amp.

yes, in the VDj settings set the "Output" to external mixer... and you can use the clubs mixer rather than the RMX...
This setup will allow you to use the RMX as a controller & a soundcard but not a mixer... :)

Otherwise, if you still want to use the RMX as a mixer just plug in the the 1/4 inch cable into the clubs and the RMX is still your mixer.
Personally I use RCA cables to connect to the clubs mixer.

can I use cdj 700s with these kind of set up?

Yes but you'll need the "PRO FULL" version......

Hi thanks for the reply. So if I purchase the pro version. Does this need an external soundcard (i.e maya44)? thanks for the quick response

If your using a controller like the RMX or Stanton DJC4 then no you wont need an external soundcard as these has 4in/4out soundcards built into them but yes you'll need the FULL PRO VERSION. I see you do have some LE versions you could use one and get a discount on the Pro version.

got it thanks man.
