hi, i'm in a desperate situation that i can't seem to find any solutions for.
been searching online for bout 7 hours now.
i recently tried to upgrade my total control's firmware to 1.02 (STUPID ME) without realizing that Numark completely discourages this. unsurprisingly, i've bricked my total control (deleted the firmware that was already inside) and now i'm stuck with a pretty paperweight.
i urgently need to fix this issue before my gig this coming weekend and i'm desperately hoping someone here knows how.
i've tried about 7 different sysex loaders now with the 1 and only available download of the firmware i found on this forum. MIDI-OX, SYSEXbox, gnmidi, sysx303 to name a few. i even tried the behringer software to load it.
all with varying outcomes except success. the midi-ox comes the closest, being able to send the data and i see my lights blinking as it should. but when the send box closes and it's supposedly completed the transfer, the controller doesn't light up the way it should.
i'm at my wit's end.
please help.
thank you.

Sounds like a Numark issue. Have you checked their forums?
This is like going to a gas station, not buying anything, then asking them to fix my car.

@soulreaver2662; This applies to the kc0_v1_02.syx and the below a direct copy paste of the instructions: FYI when I did this in Dec 2008 it took me several attemps and it worked.
Good Luck!!

To update the firmware in the Total Control using the Cue LE overlay with a PC, follow these directions:
1. Download the .zip file containing the latest firmware from http://www.numark.com and extract its contents.
2. Make sure the Total Control is disconnected from your computer.
3. Hold down the PLAY/STUTTER button of the left deck and the CUE button of the right deck simultaneously while
connecting the Total Control to your computer. The LEDs next to the mid-range EQ knobs will light up.
Note: If the LEDs next to the treble and mid-range EQ knobs light up, this means there is no firmware present on
the Total Control. Proceed to Step 4.
4. Press the two mid-range EQ knobs simultaneously. The LEDs should now be unlit, and after a few seconds, the
ON/OFF button on both decks should be lit.
5. Use a third party application to send the new SysEx file (.syx) to the Total Control. (We recommend SyxLibEd, but
you may use any program that can send a .syx file to the Total Control.) The buttons in the EFFECT sections and
SAMPLE sections will flicker as the file uploads. When it is finished, the PLAY buttons in the SAMPLE sections
and the LEDs next to the mid-range EQ knobs will light up.
6. Press the two mid-range EQ knobs simultaneously. All buttons and LEDs should now be unlit.
7. Disconnect and reconnect the Total Control to your computer to begin using it with the new firmware.
Good Luck!!

hey thanks for the response. been trying to get this to work for a while now. everytime i try sending the .syx file, it just makes the 2 initially lit buttons at the fx sections flicker like crazy but it doesn't do the whole 8 led sequence thing and when it's done sending it just stops flickering and those 2 upper left fx buttons stay lit up.
it's so frustrating i don't know what to do.
yes, i've tried other loaders. yes, i've called numark who told me to do the same thing.
