You can link a specific video to a song by simply loading the song on a deck and then dragging the video of your choice to the deck's video preview window. It will then always play along with the audio file.

Alternatively, you can use clipbank to play looped video clips on demand or Sonique on a Windows PC to display animated visuals in time to the music.

To install Sonique (Windows only):

  • Download the certified Sonique visuals pack from the download area: http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/4207/72_Sonique_Visual_plugins_certified.html

  • Extract the Sonique .svp files to an appropriate folder, e.g: My Documents\VirtualDJ\Sonique

  • In VirtualDJ, click on the EFFECTS button, click on Video Effects and then choose Sonique in the list.

  • Click on the OPEN button and browse to the folder where you copied the Sonique plugins to.

  • Double-click on the first Sonique plugin in the folder.

  • Click ACTIVATE to activate the plugin.

  • Click on the SLIDESHOW button to activate the slideshow feature (Changes the plugin automatically to the next one after a set time.) Adjust the time slider if necessary.

  • To automatically enable Sonique when playing audio files, go to CONFIG -> Video tab and choose Sonique in the 'Use this plugin for audio-only files' box.

Thank you, But when you say clip bank, Where is that? and that is what i am looking for, I want a loop the video such as pics or shadow dancer. So how am i able to do that? Thank you Alan

Clipbank is found under EFFECTS -> Video Effects.

Click on one of the 12 clipbank cells to load a video clip of your choice into that slot.

Then right-click on it again and choose the option to loop the clip.

Now you can click on the clipbank slot to turn that video clip on and off on demand.

i need help!!! I just purchased Virtual DJ pro yesterday and I am looking to play my mp3's using sonique. I have been following the instructions listed above, but when I click on "open" under the effects a folder will not pop up. Any solutions?

Did you download the Sonique visuals to the video effects folder? If you did, then you should be able to do this "To automatically enable Sonique when playing audio files, go to CONFIG -> Video tab and choose Sonique in the 'Use this plugin for audio-only files' box."

I just had the same problem.
Here's what I did for my fix. (be careful NOT to change notepad to be your default .ini viewer)

The problem I continued to have was that Sonique was not recognizing the location of my .svp files
To correct this I found the Sonique.ini file and opened it with notepad (while VDJ was closed).
Sonique.ini location: C:\Users\(USER_FOLDER)\Documents\VirtualDJ\Plugins\VideoEffect

Original:
Sting filename 4= (was blank). Copied and pasted the correct location

Updated (with location of Sonique .svp files):
String filename 4=C:\Users\(USER_FOLDER)\Documents\VirtualDJ\Plugins\VideoEffect\Sonique

Save the .ini file.

Open up VDJ, navigate to Effects > Video Effects > Sonique.
You will now see the file location in the bottom right.
Click "Open..."
Select the first .svp file

Hope this helps!

Hi gang,
I'm new to computer DJing and don't quite understand where these files are to go. I downloaded the sonique files and saved them to a folder in my documents. When I click on sonique, then "open", nothing comes up to allow me to choose the first file. Where am I to put these files? Thankis.

John
