Hi Lyear

I have the following setup, 2 x 3700's 1 x 1700 Mixer & HP Laptop running Windows 7 64bit Ultimate all linked to VDJ 7.02 Pro - At the moment the whole setup is running under midi control but I have had no issues with my setup. I am just experimenting with Hybrid Midi for scratching.

Are you having dropouts in the music or are you further back by not being able to control VDJ with the 3700's?

Regards

John Tankard

It all links and starts working ok. But only for bout 2 mins. Doesnt matter which deck. Does the same. The 3700 carries on spinning but is inresponsive. Does the same on video and standard mp3. If i switch deck off the musoc carries on ok.. Strange!!!!!!!!

Is your 3700 preset set with the jog pulse Sel at 1480/cycle?
Platter Mode set to Classic vinyl orange.

Yep to both...really annoying...

I fixed problem. It turned out to be vista!!!!!! changed to xp and works like a dream.......

Unfortunately MIDI support in Vista itself has a bug which will cause the driver of a MIDI device to crash and stop responding if too many MIDI messages are transmitted in one go (E.g: Excessive scratching or spinning of high resolution jogwheels.)

The best solution is to upgrade to Windows 7 which does not have this problem. Windows 7 will also give you considerably improved system performance over Vista, which is a very 'bloated' and resource-hungry Operating System.

Downgrading to XP as you have done will also solve the problem because it does not have this bug.

Ok, glad it worked out for you. Can you post how your setup is in virtual dj? I'm having issues and want to see how the settings are, there's really not a good video out there showing how to set this up.
I have 2x3700's, denon x600, pc-windows xp.

Glad that worked hope that doesn't happen to my Mp3 E2 ( hasn't come yet) I'm using windows 7

The setup that seem to work best for me:

Virtual DJ
Inputs - None
Outputs - External Mixer
* Deck 1: Chan 1&2 / Deck 2: Chan 3&4
Sound Card - Asio - Denon DJ Asio Driver

Both Denon 3700's are hooked up directly to my PC's 2 USB ports, one on each. Both decks are hooked up, with RCA plugs, into my Denon X600 mixer. Mixer is NOT hooked up via USB.

Both Denons are set up as follows:
Left Player
MIDI Channel 1
JOG Trns Int - 3ms
Unit No Set - ALL
Hybrid MIDI - Scratch Live
Jog Pulse - 1480

Right Plater
Set up exactly the same as the left player. The MIDI Channel on the left and right players is set the same, MIDI Channel 1.

The first thing I had to do is MIDI (connect it to the pc) the right player then the left player. If I did the left player first it was assigned as the right channel on my mixer and in the VDJ screen.

I have this working, working without the Numark I/O box. I am able to use the Parameters knob to scroll through my crates, I can use the back button on the 3700, right under the parameters knob, to scroll through my playlist.

Now, my issue, and where I'm hoping someone can help. When I use Jog Pulse 2960 the music just spins uncontrollably, both decks. The 1480 works fine, no cd time code being used but I would like to get this working so that I can change to the updated pulse of 2960 to get more precision. From my understanding, this is a VDJ issue not a Denon issue

Is this issues being addressed by VDJ?
