Hello Forum,
I'm soon about to buy my virtual DJ gear but, still in the middle of making an decision on what kind of mixer I want. I heard the Behringer Pro Mixer VMX300 USB have some type of MIDI Function to it, is that true? And, can the Mixer control virtual DJ (For an Example: If I move the crossfader to the left/right on the mixer, will virtual DJ respond with the same action by moving the crossfader to the left/right)?
Thank You

Bro thats just untrue! Heck you havent even owned 1!! I have the basic VMX300 that I wouldnt trade for the world!! I dont use it now BUT it is my backup............I would battle with the thing even now!! It has curve adjustments for the crossfader and the upfaders, puts out great sound, has the tap kills (which is nice) and its a 10 inch mixer with 3 channels..........I've also had the VMX1000 which was great but I have no use for a 19 inch mixer so I let it go.
Heard the pharse "Dont knock it till you try it"

Well I have the Behringer vmx300 mixer and I thought about buying the vmx300USB so I researched it and this is what i found. It does have MIDI sequencer as stated on the 3rd dot. I might try it but if you do before I do please let me know if it works with the crossfader. Thanks

Bro it will not work..............the usb part is only there for recording. No where does it say anything about being or having MIDI CAPABILITY which is what you need.
But if you wanna waste your money go ahead.
Do your research kids

I have also included the website that I found more information on. The paragraph labled Super software says "This amazing DAW (digital audio workstation) makes it easy to manipulate your audio and MIDI files, turning song ideas into stunning CD or web-ready recordings."
So as soon as I receive it I will be sure to let you guys know.

I just got DDM4000 and it's a five star mixer for the price!!! (around $450).. Also, midi capable!
Posted Sun 25 Dec 11 @ 11:53 am
Yeah the DDM4000 looks great but more money than I can spend right now. Are there any other mixers that can mix hardware(turntables, drum machines etc) that are midi equipped to run VDJ? On the same note what controllers with decks and built in mixer also can be used to mix hardware? I know the Hercules DMX can but the platters are too small. I'd like something like my Numark Mixtrack but that integrates a hardware mixer. Also something that isn't garbage build quality like my Mixtrasck is.

Morning all (when your a DJ it's always morning, cause we all get in at Silly O.clock)
I'm a Video DJ and have been for in the industry for over 30 years, being a DJ & now DVJ has taken me round the world, however i'm starting to feel it's time to simplify my set up
So my DJ mate has recommended VDJ which i now have bought and do like (Very much) however i need advise on what would be the best set up.
My current set up is Pioneer SVM 1000 & 2 x DVJ 1000 and using VDJ via a converter into one channel of the SVM as a back up, this works well but is a bit of a faff to set up for small gigs.
Tom (my mate) use's a Denon MC 6000 which is good , but to me it looks like a toy with the small jog wheels. Im tempted to buy the Numark NS6 as it has large jog wheels and all the bits. I would use this for smaller gigs. But keep my SVM & DVJ's for corporate gigs.
I recently bought Rane SL3, matrox dual2go & 2 extra video converters to try and link Virtual dj and my SVM & 2 DVJ's but i was getting lag with the time codes. So I have ditched that idea (Sorry, selling is not permitted in the VirtualDJ forums - Please see: Forum Rules)
So any ideas to what midi unit i should get.
Thanks in advance

The VMX300 USB has a mic input. Does anyone know whether VMX300 USB's mic input has phantom power, so that I could use the unit in the place of an audio interface to connect my cardioid XLR mic to the computer, via the USB interface?
Please let me know you thoughts, or from experience of using the VMX300 USB. Thanks.
