Topic: How do I record a Mix for demo purposes (ie to CD)?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi; wondering if anyone can help me out. I am very new to VirtualDJ (and the whole DJ thing) but I urgently need to get a CD demo out. Can anyone offer advice as to how to do this with Virtual DJ only (I do not yet have any other hard or software)?

I do have iTunes though so can burn a CD from there...

Any help appreciated!
Cheers,
Lloyd

VDJ has a record option...I don't have the software in front of me right now but I believe it's one of the main buttons on the middle of the screen (default skin). I believe it's the same type of button where you select sample or fx if I recall.

Yes it's beside the FX button on the default skin. You will then have to choose if you want your mix to be in mp3/wav (record to file)
or in bin+cue format (record to cd).

select the record file option, and then configure the settings. 128kbps is cd quality, then use a external burning program (such as Nero, or Roxio) to burn the file to cd. make sure u burn it as a CD file, not an MP3 (or data) file, as some CD players cannot read MP3s
Thats the way I do it...

128kbps isn't CD quality. You are better to use 192 or 320.
