Does anyone know how to map the Fader Start with a DJM 800 and CDJ 400's on VDJ? Can it even be done?

Thanks
Lo

You'd have to do a midi map I think, not use the fader start ports. There is the function in vdj somewhere, or if not, you can do your own vdjscript to make it happen.

Oh yeah, apart from unless you've got a denon HC4500, they've got fader start inputs so you could do it the normal way then.

Looks like the CDJ400's got faderstart too. So you don't have to map anything ;D
Just connect your faderstarts from the mixer to your CDJ's and VDJ will follow.

Oh, well there you go!

I should have checked before posting! I hadn't heard anyone mention it before.

Don't tell anyone, but I googled them before posting..... ;)

Haha, cunning!

Nope did not work with VDJ. Worked in CD mode. Anyone????

Have you tried the CDJ-400 mappers? Can't make out of the description if faderstart is implemented...
I'll ask around on the Dutch forum. I know there's someone who works with CDJ's and a DJM-mixer.

No, I have my CDJ's customed mapped. Was a little afraid to use the mapper on the site because I didn't know how the creator had it mapped. I hate to go into a show not knowing what each button does and having to work it back to how I like it. It maybe an issue with mapping the DJM 800, which a do have a midi controller for it, but no clue how I would map that.

Got an answer: Faderstart won't work in PC-mode. So that's something only Pioneer can solve by editing the firmware.
Mapping your DJM800 is for now the only solution that could bring you faderstart. S.Waterreus (the one I've asked for advise) told me he was having problems mapping the DJM. At the moment it won't respond the way it should. He's gonna have a look. If something new comes up I'll let you know.

Regards,
Martin.

Damm! Thank You for checking on it though.

so fader start in external mixer mode cannot be done (simply). there just is no signal going from the mixer to vdj.
in midi mode however it can be done.
i am not good in mapping but i managed to get it working. map the fader start button and attatch the action "fader_start on" to it.
now if you use the crossfader or the volume faders the song will start or go back to cue. however just by adding the action fader_start on, it is not working properly because it cannot be turned off at this moment. also there is no difference in faderstart button 1 or 2.
i am not going to spend more effort on this at this time cause i am just not interested in working my djm in midi mode, however, it shows it can work and if you add the right commands in the action line it should be able to work perfectly.

Well thanks for checking on this. I'm not good at writting commands either. If someone could right out the command I think this would be a good addition for us DJM users.

Thanks Again!
