I've just bought a Numark DJ IO USB audio interface for my 27" i5 iMac (10.6.4) and when I select 'Numark USB Audio Device' in sound prefs I get the message 'The selected device has no output controls'.
The volume slider is greyed out, I can't control the volume at all. If I play something through the speakers attached to the DJ IO the volume is set to max (deafening!).
I've tried reinstalling the latest Snow Leopard driver from Numark (2.0.2), reset my PRAMM & SMC, everything checks out in Audio Midi utility - all to no avail.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

mate you have to select 4.1 sound and numark soundcard and ie external mixw ect
to ckeck before you open vdj open djio icon and make sure it says connected.
also make sure the djio is connected straight into mac

Also ensure you are using the latest demo of VDJ for best results.
Some older demos have issues with this type of card.
