This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hello All,

Im pretty new to this thing.. I purchased the Numark Total Control DJ IN A BOX about a year ago..

I use the DJ/IO Soundcard for my Microphones and Headphones and my output to my powered speakers.

My question is are there CD Players that will work as cd players and controllers for virtual dj.

Im extremely confused I wouldnt even know what to buy and im sure im gonna kick myself hard for this cause I just bought an Odyssey case for 12" mixer with the laptop slide.

Any help would be appreciated... Thanks In Advance!!

Also want to point out that none of my music at all is on cd's.. Is there even a point to this if im not doing this as my proffesion? I do this on the side its nothing big yet like i stated so im just looking for someones advice here..

if you are not using cds why look for cd players,
i own and use a denon hd 2500 which runs on mp3 built in hd and external hd also has asio soundcard.
the high end cd/midi cd players ar the new numark ns7s.
as you said its not your profession so up to you how much you spend.
also if your using djio any cd players will hook up to it that i know as i still use mine sometimes

Just about any CDJ would work just fine with Virtual Dj, either in the time code mode, or like in some of the new models as midi controllers.

I use the American Audio Radius 3000 which are great with wirtual dj. I've also used other CDj's such as the denon 3700, and the pioneer 800. They all work great, but it all boils down to what you want to invest you money into.

If you are looking for something practical, and simple to use, I would also recommend the Numark Mixdeck. Not only is it small, but it has USB adapters, cd players, and works as a midi with Traktor and Virtual Dj.

Think about what you really want, and check out some options, do some research, and then you can decide on what best fits your budget and style of dj.
