first off must say that evry1 has impressive looking gear..here is my pic of my setup

I'll post pics later but my current setup goes something like this:
-2 MBPs, one running VDJand one running ableton
-VDJ controlled by VMS4
-ableton controlled by APC40
-both go into 8 channel eurotrash I mean eurotrack mixer with another backup channel for iPod and one or two mic channels

OR

-one MBP running both programs and each of the four decks in VDJ routed to 4 separate channels in ableton with JackOSX
-ableton into "mixer portion" of vms4
-vms4 into eurotrash mixer with other said dedicated channels for iPod/mic

I have found that if you keep the tempo in VDJ the same as the master in ableton, you can start the midi clock in ableton and be pretty set with tempos...though a little matching by ear is required. I might move to the dark side (traktor) just because of it's ability to send midi clock. Definitely hoping for midi clock in the next version of VDJ!
