Hi all,
I just got a macbook pro and have rescanned loads of cd's to 320kps with the result i need to rebuild my database from scratch.
Quite a few of the mp3's have scanned incorrectly so I wondered if it's possible to setup a keyboard shortcut to adjust the BPM multiply or divide by 2. Doing each file the long way is a pain in the rear!

Yep,
Right-click on the BPM button on the skin and you'll get a popup menu that has plenty of options for you. You probably only need to use the +1/4 or -1/4 or /2 options. However there is also a slider that will allow you to accurately place the main block in the CBG.
I have given up trying to do this for ALL tracks. It only takes a few seconds to do, so usually amend it when I load it for the first time during a gig.
Cheers,
Roy

Cheers Roy, never thought of that .....
It would be great if we could batch adjust the BPM's and other info but the VDJ interface doesn't support that at present.

kradcliffe how did you change songs to 320 k.does this affect your songs or is there better quality all round

Basically by re-ripping all my CD's in itunes. The quality difference is really noticeable on some tracks but not so much on others. Depends on the contents of the track as to how the compression affects it.
I've also discovered if a track is loaded in the deck you can assign a keyboard shortcut to the command "set_bpm 200%" (or whatever you want) which saves a bit of time.

Keith,
If you think about it you can't realy batch adjust the BPM's. 9 times out of 10 they will be fine, the adjustments you need will be specific to that track. The biggest issue is with tracks that have long intros which appear to confuse the analyser. The only other real change I often have to do is move the main block forward or back 1/4.

Well after rescanning my library there are loads of tracks in the 60-70 BPM range that should be 120-140. I guess that could be something to do with the BPM<80 setting I've never quite figured out!

Well as your re-building, try re-scanning them with that setting and see what happens. I'm curious too...
