Myself and a friend do an internet radio show, and use Virtual DJ to record the shows. Up to now, we have used mics with jack connectors but recently purchased some better quality mics, but these have USB connectors and have discovered that they aren't compatible with VDJ?
Is this the case? Can USB mics be used with VDJ? If so, how do we get them set up in the configurations screen?
If not, could anybody suggest alternative software we could use with USB mics?
We would like to continue using VDJ, as we have found it suitable for our needs, but we have invested a lot in these mics, so if an alternative is the option so be it.
Many thanks in advance.

What version of VDJ are you using?

You must set up the mic in the Windows Control panel. Also, only one of the USB mics can be used at a time. If you are truly interested in doing a multi-mic show your best bet would be a USB sound board, similar to the Alesis Multi-mix, and go through the set up procedure in Windows. Also, if you are serious, please purchase a license for Virtual DJ.

Hippydog, we are using Virtual DJ 6.01 (which we have a license for, btw, just not registered it here).
We have been into control panel, and it has recognised the mic's presence, but when using it with VDJ in record mode, it defaults to the internal mic and no music can be heard playing out, yet still records music. I tried disabling the internal mic, but that cut access to the sound card.

After you ran through the set up procedure in Windows did you re-boot? If not then do so. Once that is done you will need to go to the record config in VDJ and choose master + line. That is how I have always done it, and I have done it on five different PCs with no issues.

Done the reboot thing now, and the only options I see in record configuration is Master. Master + Mic. and Line In separately. Would that be Master + Mic I need to select?

I wonder if ASIO4ALL (www.asio4all.com) would enable two USB mics to be used?

Yeah, Master and mic...I need to stop doing three things at once..sorry.. ;-)
@ Hippy, its not the number of sound patterns. Its Windows will only allow one mic/like in device at a time.

I was just wondering out loud, if maybe The asio driver could be used as the "default device" in "sound recording"..
