Hello all,
Could this be the one?
http://www.numark.com/mixdeck
I have been looking for a relatively affordable all in one unit for a while now. Sometimes I would like to lose the computer for a outdoor gig or have a stand alone back up solution. (I like the IPod option too... perfect for dinner music or another back up.)
Any thoughts?

I have been checking these out for a min. I think that it is cool but i think the ipod deck should optional. I dont like the hole. But overall i think that its going to be a good unit. This one looks cool too. I think it might be a lower but better icdx.. Both units are touch sensitive. big plus!!!!

Question about this....can you mix from different sources....laptop and iPOD? looking at this as well
Posted Sun 17 Jan 10 @ 5:00 pm
Says it can be mapped to any midi DJ software. Looks really cool but I just wonder about the quality. I think the NS7 looks better but this all in one device seems hard to beat.
Can't seem to find out anything about the sound card output or quality of output.

Anyone know how big the platters are on these decks? It doesn't say in the description. I want to know how they compare with the ns7 7 inch decks. From the look of it, seems like they are about the size of that CD coming out of the deck which would make it about 4.75 inches in diameter. Way smallar than the NS7 inch. We need a 7 incher that does what this does.

If you watch the video in the link i provided, you will see that it is about 2in smaller than the deck on the left. I think that the ndx800 has 7inchers. So the mixdeck is probably bout 5in.

you cannot "mix" the ipod... as in put the music into decks. When i saw the video, he staid the 3rd channel on the mixer (in the middle) is used for the ipod. but thats it im sure.

Mixdeck is sweet, but the main drawback with VDJ is the fact the crossfader is no midi mappable. Which means you have to leave the crossfader in the center in VDJ, and use the cross fader on your mixdeck....not really that big a deal except the fact that if you do videos, the video will need to be moved manually on the computer. I hope that makes sense

I bought a pair of the NDX800's and they are AWSOME!
I would compare them to the Pioneer 800s but better. Yeah, I know I'm gonna get a lot of lip from those who are in love with Pioneer but think of the Pioneer 800s with MIDI control, USB and flash/thumb drive connections and more effects.
My one and only complaint is the red light around the platter. When the music is playing it's only purpose is decoration which I personally feel it takes away from how great everything else is. It's petty but I had to bring it up.
I am amazed at how good these things are. Read the specs. EVERYTHING works as it should. Even the platter gives you amazing control if you like to scratch.
The only thing I haven't been able to do yet is setup up MIDI control for the platter to be sensitive enough to scratch with. But I think this is a limiition of MIDI itself. MIDI was original setup to be used with buttons and now knobs but not with platters for scratching. If you can help me with this, send me a message.
If anyone has questions for an actual owner/user, just ask.
I still can't believe the price... BTW I bought them during a Presidents Sale and got 15% off so I ended up paying $339 each with free shipping!!! UNBELIEAVABLE!
I have owned Denon, Numark, American DJ, and stil use technic 1200s and have used/owned MIDI controllers and I have not been this excited over a piece of equipment in a long time. Can you tell? LOL
NDX800's are the best bang for your buck!

Hi, i want to know if i can map both decks of the mixdeck and use the mixer as a external mixer with a RCA mono separated cable!?!?

Incidentally, don't get too excited about the ipod connection - it's just a line in connection and some very basic transport controls. No pitch or cue controls here... Handy to have as a backup though.
