Topic: Serato Timecode with Virtual DJ question

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Ok, I am new to this message board.
I prefer Virtual Dj over Serato's Scratch Live program....but just purchased the Scratch Live interface. For now, I am having to use Serato's Scratch Live program because VDJ does not support Serato's timecoded vinyl. My question is that I want to go back to using VDJ again, and Im wondering what brand of timecoded vinyl will support both the Serato SL1 interface with Virtual DJ. If I purchase timecoded vinyl from Numark will it work? Or, am I screwed and will be forced to continue to use the Scratch Live program?
Thanks for any help/answers everyone.

Are you using the demo of VDJ now? If not, I suggest that you download it, connect your sl1, and give it a try. I personally don't use the sl1 box, but have used serato TCV's before. After you confirm that they work, then purchase a licence. (ITS TOTALLY WORTH IT!)

when i used my sl1 box with 5.0 it worked flawlessly. your not doing something right.

i use serato timecode vinyl with no problems at all. there is no reason why they wont work with vdj

when i play mine it plays backwards
whats up with this progam
serato works fine

@Mostonedef, VDJ supports all kinds of timecodes, Serato, Numarks, etc. The SL1 will also work with VDJ.

You have something backwards if its playing backwards, check your wiring.

As above, your setup is incorrect - Serato CVs are actually the recommended TCV to use as of v6.

As already mentioned it's likely your stereo signals are inverted - either swap the L/R RCAs over, or tick the box to invert stereo in the timecode debug window.

Do I need to download new drivers for Virtual to run with the SL1 OR will Virtual just recognize the hardware when I open Virtual?

You will need the SL1 ASIO driver installed, which is included with Serato (I don't think you can install it separately.)

NOTE: On Mac it is not supported because no driver is available. It may also not work under the latest Operating Systems such as Windows 7 64-bit.

can anybody help me plese....I am using 2 cdj mk3 1000 and a djm 600...the vdj program is
not recognizing the loop nor the fwd or rewind off the cdjs...I tried using the updated timecode cds
off the vdj website and they run really slow...the ones that work are the traktor ones...if anyone
has any suggestions I would appreciate it....
