The clue is in your post - you would have to ask Numark.

But VDJ also owns numark it is more VDJ's responsibility to make its version for Numark. What power does Numark actually have if the original 6.0.5 is from VDJ. VDJ has to make it for Numark. So you can't just say that we have to ask Numark.

The real question is when is VDJ going to make its version for Numark Cue. THERE is where we ask Virtual DJ. So when?

Again ... you have posted a completely 'FALSE' statement as if you work for Atomix/VirtualDJ ...

As it has been posted here MULTIPLE times ...

We make the install for Numark and give it to them.
They do their own evaluation of the release.
If it takes them 6 months, 6 weeks, 6 days, or 6 hours ... it doesn't become available until they say so.

So DON'T ASK VirtualDJ ... when ... because Numark can only say WHEN.

I put an extremely offensive post, but I realized there was no point. Sorry guys. Forget what I said.

Yes you can - nothing to loose.
But it is always a good idea to backup the (mydocuments) "virtualdj" folder and your database files "VirtualDJ Local Database v6.xml" in the root of your hard drive(s), just in case.

can u use idj2 with numark cue?

I notice a problem in Video Options in Config.

When I remove the check off the "Activate Video Output", The Monitor gos Dark sometimes if a "Music Video" file starts to play in automix Play List even though I don't want it to play the "Video" just the "Audio"?

This seems to happen randomly and it's becoming a big problem for me because it interferes with my karaoke show, when a singer is singing on stage and then suddenly the screen blanks out and gos Dark and the Singer can't See the words to sing, it's kind of embarrassing.

I immediately went to Video tab in Config and to my surprise the "Activate Video box is checked" On, on it's own, but the plugin for Sonique box is not?

I use VDJ for fading music in and out between singers and DJing on my Karaoke wednesday, thursday and sunday gigs.

If you remove the check off "Activate Video Outbut" It Should Remain Off untill you decide to turn it back ON, even if a video file is playing, but that's not happening.

This problem happen to me again over this weekend.

Would appreciate a solution to this.

VDJ 6.5

Thank You

Joey....

VDJ will automatically activate this when it sees a video file.
There is no way to change it, and yes if you deactivate the video, the screens naturally go black.

My best method for this is to load audio tracks for background on one deck for auto play use and just let it run.
Then search and load the side list for your singers and load from there to the idle deck.
When the singer is ready and you've made your introduction, hit play and move the fader to the karaoke deck.
When they finish, move it back to the auto play deck and so on.

Thanks for the advice Rick

I Understand the work around you've given me, the thing is that i'm using another Karaoke program to run the shows because I needed a better rotation management feature and to keep history info on the singers as well as Que display and other goodies like electronic request slips, so I use Hoster program for karaoke and VDJ for background music and intermission Videos.

It's working pretty good other then that glitch I mention on my previous post.

An idea of having a second AutoMix PlayList that would allow you to Pre populate that list with Bumper Music or whatever maybe needed to quickly transition into another session type would be nice.

Primarily I use the Automix to store my media selections Video & Audio for that venue, If I need to scratch or anything else I use the second Deck.

The reason for the second PlayList is to have a quick convenient way to transition into another pre populated PlayList without having to MixUp your Automix list that is already populated.

A second AutoMix PlayList would be a Big advantage and less wear & tear on the brain, This also would be very useful for Wedding DJ's, Corparate Event DJ's, ect.

Thanks again Rick

There is an option to stop this from happening ... on the Video tab in the bottom section, the 4th option is "Activate on Load" ... uncheck it. If the video output (as you mentioned) is not already active then VirtualDJ will not engage the video engine if the Activate on Load is UNCHECKED.

You could always use the shortcuts from swapping between the playlist and sidelist. Use the sidelist as your second list, when you wish to swap it, create a shortcut that used the switch_sidelist_playlist, then even while the automix is running if you need to swap to the other list then you press the shortcut. It does become a 'management' task then of the 2 lists to make sure you don't leave something played in the list. But the order of the lists are kept in tack when swapped. Also, if you go this route then you don't want to use the 'Autosave Unplayed' option from the Options tab. You will want to Disable that setting. Otherwise you run the risk of adding tracks to the sidelist unintentionally.

In that case if someone has, by mistake, linked a video to an MP3 - whch is easily done, I'm guessing this too will also cause the video screen to become enabled.

If so, Joey, you need to check to see if the audio files you are using have videos linked to them.

Cheers,

Roy

Thanks for the input GadgetMan, but in my case I am using a Mix of Audio and Video media in the AutoMix PlayList as per my previous post.

Thank you

Thank you Teamer, Support Staff Person for sharing your suggestion.

I will test the method you describe to accomplish this task and see how it works out in the field, I'll post back my findings, hopefully this may work for me.

I just thought of another idea, what about swaping the PlayList with a Virtual folder this way it would save the dragging to the SideList, not much room in there anyways.

Thanks again

does this version fix the file date feature?

Are you talking about sorting by filedate?

ok, sorry to possibly be asking stupid questions, but the last time I was on here (no internet at home for awhile) 6.0.2 had just come out. I know there was an issue with a few bugs in the system back then, especially with Karaoke .zip files. was this problem ever resolved in later patches, or did everyone just say the hell with it and re-compress them? Also, I don't do too much video mixing, but I do some. Are the video problems mentioned previously only for certain file types or are they general? I also know there were some minor issues with Timecode drift, and since I am fixing to start using timecodes, I was wondering if that was fixed as well. Again, I have been offline for awhile and I may be beating a dead horse, but I just want to get caught up on everything from previous patches as well as this one cause I would love to upgrade from 5.2.1 since I am going to be using an RMX with timecodes and the RMX is full plug 'n' play according to what I hear now with mapping and everything. Thanks in advance for your help.
