Are you in "Single Output?"
Posted Sun 20 Dec 09 @ 4:19 pm
Yes, i have single output (tested on the other computer with only one soundcard). Now it is OK. You can delete my previous post. My mistake, sorry..

Thanx a lot guys and especially on the Database fix(es). Can I assume that: fixed "songs disappearing" also meant; 1) virtual folders disappearing, and 2) songs that didn't belong in a Virtual folder somehow would show up, and 3) the fact that "BPM info disappeared randomly and occasionally songs would need to be re-scanned", and 4) "firsteen" date on songs would occasionally be reset to current date? were also fixed along with "songs disappearing from database"?
Can we assume that these database issues were included in that databse fix??

Are you talking about sorting by filedate?

So far, no disappearing folders. Yay!
I did notice some of my AVI videos would not 'advance'. When I skipped around, the video would be frozen. Using the AVI internal decoder.
VOB & other AVI and MKV not impacted.
Reinstalled 6.0.4 and problem was not there - same reg entries.
But then I don't do video - yet. Just enjoy the ability.

I think yo guys would also be pleased with the new feel of the serato timecode engine which is very responsive. Merry Christmas guys and report back on timecode feel also backspinning.
Posted Sun 20 Dec 09 @ 9:38 pm
I dont use time code, but i dont get it.. Why is it callled the serato engine? dosent that sound like you guys are admitting serato is better in terms of time code? even if it is, ive never heard of a company name something after a competitor?
Kinda like bmw saying were introducing the audio quattro system in our 5 series. wtf??

(4) was probably a consequence of (3), but anyways so far all looks good. Did some database testing on 6.0.5 where I could previously (6.0.3) re-produce a database problem following a specific set of steps and it's looking good! :-). No issues what-so-ever. FIX works well, compresses database as intended and no subsequent db issues (even without exiting VDJ). Good job all 'round!

merry christmas everybody ! i hope this fix is better with ns7 on vista because it still jumps on 6.4.0 i still use mac but using bootcamp but i like the features on windows so we will see!

It means serato timecode is supported better in this version.
VDJ has always had an open approach to users, where you can choose yourself what soundcard to use, what controller to use etc .. Not locked to any hardware... And you can also choose what timecode vinyls to use, the ones that you have or is easiest to get for you, and its not limited to serato.. VDJ support a lot of different timecode engines ;) But improved serato vinyl support is a plus for many users, as the serato vinyls are quite easy to get, and cheap, at local dj stores...
Technically seratos timecode engine (noismap) gives performance benefits over other competitors timecodes (with VDJ),
but VDJ own timecode works great too of course ;)

That was already fixed in 6.0.4. They added MaxFileDateSort inside the registry: default value is 500 and that means you get sorting by filedate only if you have less than 500 files inside that folder. You can change that manually in the registry as I did or if you afraid to do that, I think you should wait for the new release of djcel's Registry tool.
