My question is why would Vestax make a $300 Contrller interface for a mac and not one similarly prices for a PC? The VCI 300 is $900.

The Vestax SPIN is a MIDI Controller ... so it potentially could be made to work with PC based software.

It doesn't look like PC support is part of the plans

The vestax Spin is 250 dollars. Just basic entry level for someone that was interested in simply dj ing. Why they chose mac, who knows... Maybe mac wanted something simple so they spoke to vestax.
The VCI 300 was 900 when it first came out.. There are so many place where you can buy it for 700 bucks and even less. I paid 620 for mine brand new many months ago.

What they mean is Vestax Support, aka call them for help or questions regarding the use of it on a PC
Can I use SPIN with Windows?
A.
SPIN is designed for Macintosh systems but can be used with Windows systems
by using the MIDI mapping feature of other DJ applications.
(edited the answer to make it more clear.. )
Of course its a beginner/starter kit, but few other midi gear in same price range
offers touch sensitive jogwheels, with soundcard built in.
Its of course not same high pro build as VCI-300, and has lesser resolution on the jogs, but hey, its 1/3 of the price ;)

I have been waiting for the apple store in Scottsdale to get another in so I can test it out (that is if the pretentious snobs that work there will let me). They got 1 originally and it apparently sold the same day they got it....they don't know when they will be getting another.
Apparently the store designed for selling the supposedly most sophisticated computers never heard of Wal-Mart and the PC computerized ordering system which orders products low in inventory automatically so they are recieved BEFORE they run out so they can sell more.
I only need a basic controller and it sounds almost perfect for my needs...but I want to check out the quality of build before I order because the only other way to get it is on line and that is such a return hassle if you don't like it.
