Hey Guys,
Question - I purchased my first DFF mpeg4 DVD from promo only. I purchased that over a regular DVD because they are already tagged, however, they don't come out the same way I have my database. I currently have all my database like this:
Artist - song title (year)
The DFF mpeg4 DVD I purchased is the opposite,
song title - artist
Now, I don't know all the ins and outs of VDJ, I know enough to get by but, does this mean I'm going to have to edit the name of the file so that they are like the rest of my files? If so, then it was kind of pointless to purchase the DFF DVD right? Or am I missing something here? Is there a way for me to reverse the file name so that it comes out artist first then song title?
Pardon my ignorance on this.

Not had one yet and I'm from the UK so it's a totally different thing anyway but it sounds to me as if your gonna have to rename them, use tag and rename it will do them all at once in 2 seconds.
I thought it was just karaoke that was like that and that's bead enough!

I just checked, I bought the MP4 version this month instead of the DVD as well (UK edition) and mine is the same, but I don't think it is too much of an issue because they still come out the same in VDJ, Title and artist are correct in the tags

Do I scan them first thru VDJ or do I do this task in the folder that I have put the files in first? I'm not at home right now so I can't look but let me know and I'll try this when I get home. So far the only thing I've done is copied the videos into a folder into my external drive.
Thanks!

Makes no difference AFAIK, I usually read names from tags first then scan them, all inside VDJ.

You know what, I didn't even have to do what you said Soulman ... when I opened VDJ, I do what I always do (anytime I have added new videos to my external drive), which is right click on the drive (from the left side panel) clicked "add to search DB". Normally after that what I do is, highlight all the videos in the unscanned folder that I have set up then scan them, but all of the video have already been scanned - and they are coming out artist - title - BPM, so I didn't have to do anything really.

I scan them for bpm, length & Key field which are columns I always have displayed.

You're right, even though the BPM were coming up, the key field didn't so, I did have to scan them for that .. but still, the DFF DVDs do make life a lil' easier. Thanks for your input.
Have a good day all!

The tags are all thae same and will always come up correctly in VDJ. It's the file name that will be different. So if you want to burn a disc using your CD burning software, you'll have to remember to look for the artist of those mp4 files rather than the song title. As that is how they will be sorted, unless you go in and add the artist and title columns and sort that way. I use sonic to burn CDs, and I have to always change my windows view aand then add or move columns to see genre or title or whatever. So having all the file names the same with Title first, makes it easy for me.
But VDj will always show your tags correctly regardless of the file name order.
