Topic: Unable to install Numark DJIO Asio driver in HP mini 110 netbook running Windows 7 - Page: 1

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

Hi,
I have tried installing the latest audio driver for my VDJ program on my new netbook-I'm using the Numark DJIO and have tried installing Numark_USB2_WIN32_2.8.9 from the Numark site. The original install cd that came with my DJIO doesn't work either.
I'm using an HP Mini 110 netbook-32 bit running Windows 7 Home Premium.
It seems the install goes thru almost to the end. I get a popup at the bottom of my screen that says-successful installation but there's a box above that saying- the installation failed (Error:0x0006)
I've tried installing plugging the USB cable in when prompted & tried it not plugging in the USB.
I also tried disabling my firewall-didn't make a difference.
Any suggestions?
very frustrating :(
thanks

Hi,

i heard, some driver works sometimes fine, even though an error occurs.
So give them a try and plug in you soundcard for a test.

But you can also use the compatibility modus from Windows 7

>Rightclick on the driver exe before execute
>click on properties
>click on the tab compatibility and select for example Windows Vista SP1!
>OK

After that execute the exe for install the drivers.

Hehe, i'm not sure if the english W7 use the same items then the german W7, but i belive you find the right things ;-)

If these things doesn't work, you should contact the Numark Support.
Maybe they have a better idea then me or somebody here ;-)

See you
Haui

Didn't work but thanks for your help.
I'll contact Numark Support.
thanks Haui!

Any news?

Hi,

We are currently working on a newer version of the driver to tweak this and also add 64 win 7 support.

However this may be a hardware issue as these netbooks are known for IRQ issues as they try to pack allot into a small space.

I would recommend if you get error 0006 to ensure you are the admin user and you choose run as administrator.

Try unplugging the card at this point and reconnecting it as it means a time out has occurred either due to usb latency or windows awaiting your permission to continue.

I have a Acer lapotop, but I get the same error.

The interesting part is, that I installed drivers one or two weeks ago, but then deleted it. Now I want to install driver again, but there is always error.

I went out and purchased a copy of Vista in order to downgrade from Windows 7 because my DJIO wouldn't install. (I'd complete the install but it would not stay once I rebooted.) But before I opened the software I read your blog about right clicking the setup file, choosing properties, clicking the compatibility tab, selecting Vista. Then ran the setup file and the install went successfully! I think you just saved me $217! I rebooted a few times to make sure Numark stayed as the default sound device and so far it has.
Thanks Haui70!
By the way...Numark techinical support didn't even suggest this to me...all they said was that they'll have a driver within the next 6 months.

Also, make sure you are using the Vista 64 bit drivers from Numark....at least that's what worked for me.
Driver version: numark djio x64 2.8.17

i just got a new laptop with windows 7, 64 bit, and installed the Windows Vista 64 bit driver for DJ/IO with no problem.

I am having the same problems and it is driving me nuts.
I have had this DJIO for 3 months and have been trying to figure it out.
I downloaded the 64 bit driver tried installing it and got as far as TO FINISH THE INSTALLATION REBOOT NOW.
so I reboot like it says and when I reboot nothing happens no further installation or anything.
I tried opening up the compatibility tab but the only thing i could change was use with admin privileges and i checked that box. The rest of of the compatibility tab is just greyed out. When I bring up computer management and bring up the device manager, the numark sound device has a yellow check mark on it. I brought up the device properties and it tells me that it cannot find the driver. So i did a manual search and the driver is there. trying to update the driver does not work unplugging and plugging in the card doesn't work. so i tried just using it in virtual dj i bring up the sound settings, change the outputs to headphones, and the sound card to the ASIO driver and press apply. when I press apply it says there is not enough channels. so i bring up the CPLNumarkUSB2.exe file it says there is no device connected. i have tried everything from creating a new user account thinking it might have something to do with admin privileges, but it is just the same thing.
I have tried wiping it all off my computer and starting from scratch and nothing.
I am running a Gateway NV58 320GB ram intel core 2 duo processor 4GB memory
it seems to me that the driver is flawed and wont work on all 64 bit systems. If anyone has any suggestions please i would love to get this figured out.

Hi there! I just got the numark djio total computer dj for xmas! i am using windows 7. i also got the same error. I'm super mad. This is some crap. imo, windows 7 has been out long enough for the company to have done something. I've been searching for a patch, and can't find one. i did, however find other ppl who are having the same prob, and who are just as upset. i found a post frm someone who contacted tech support, and was told this......

"99% of audio cards don't have drivers because Windows7 is so new.

The simpole fac,t is that Windows 7 was an OPEN BETA, and there isn"t a good excuse to not have written and tested drivers. I read some other similar posts. It seems tech support is feeding ppl lies. So now what? I have to uninstall win 7, and downgrade to vista?! I'm super excited to use my new gift, so i just may have to. If anyone has any advice, I could sure use it! Thank you! :)

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday, and will enjoy an awesome new year!!!
Take care

HAHA!! When i was looking at this thread before my prev post, i couldn"t read entire posts. There was some writing, and then what looked like writing in code. Must have been an errror! It refreshed after my post, and i can now see entire posts!! I see that there may be hope!!! YAY! I'm off to try and reinstall!! Thanks! Wish me luck!

All,

I've searched and read everyone's responses related to Windows 7 64bit and being able to load the drivers for the Numark DJio. It's pretty simple. First off you have to download the drivers from Numark's website. Here is the link make sure you are using either a 64 bit or 32 bit the drivers are not the same. Check your OS to see if you are using 64bit or 32bit version of Windows 7 or Vista. The Vista driver will work with Windows 7 all you need to do is disable the UAC......User Access Control in Windows 7 reboot and then install the drivers. It worked fine for me. I remember in Vista when trying to install programs that it would not allow you until you disable the UAC.

I am running W7 64 bit on a Dell Studio 17. I get the 0x0006 error installing the 64 bit Vista driver (from the home site) but if I update the driver in Device Manager it installs but shows as a WDM device...not ASIO. This means I cannot choose the ASIO driver from the CUE config. If I choose the WDM driver I cannot get sound to come through the headphones. Numark have emailed me back stating there is a Win7 64-bit driver is on the way! I will try the UAC disable method in the meantime and report back.

djarmand1 thank you so much mate! Dropped UAC to lowest setting, rebooted and re-installed using the same driver software I had and this time it completed wihout error and asked me to reboot. Did that and opened CUE, clicked Config and lo and behold there is the ASIO sound card. Tested and all working perfect! You are a legend mate...thank you. Everyone else you should try this, in Control Panel select User Accounts and change the User Access Controls to the minimum there is. Thanks again mate.

people dont downgrade find a sound card that will work like the maya-44 dont get tour hopes down

Hi..
Back again with same error, exactly a year ago..

Upgraded my laptop 2 months ago and now using Windows 7, 32 bit.
Maya44 USB Sound card.. Driver 2.817
Virtual DJ 6.0.7

It was working fine for a few gigs.
Normally i would have problems detecting the driver and all i would have to do is reinstall the driver, and it works fine after.

Strange thing happened at a gig last night.. Had to reinstall the driver as usual, but this time it gave me,
"Driver Installation Failed Error 0x0006".

I'm also getting the DirectX & Asio Driver error but may have fixed it after installing the latest DirectX 11.
I'm even running the driver installation as Administrator compatibility with Vista SP1. Still getting the same error.

Disabled my UAC as well, updated my USB drivers. Still same problem. Uninstalled and reinstalled.
Still getting that error and worst still, no drivers present or installed.

Settings are back to Input None; Single Output, Simple..
VDJ works fine and i somehow had to miraculously pull off mixing visually since i didn't have two line channels last night.
But i can't get the Maya outputs to work when the sound card drivers just doesn't work despite being connected.

Wondering if going into the registry edit is required..

Help please! Thank you :s

Help !! I have A Dj IO But it don't work because its a 32 Bits en my computer is 64 bits Pleas Help me

I would check to the Numark site for any available driver updates.

On a personal note, the 32bit drivers supplied with my DJIO, bought over a year ago, work fine on my 64bit Win7 laptop. Win7 64bit machines come with WOW64 which is the x86 emulator, so 32bit applications and drivers will work...more info here---> http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa384249(v=vs.85).aspx
