Topic: Numark Cue on MAC with Numark Omni Control - STILL NO NATIVE SUPPORT

Guys:

I run Numark Cue 5.2.1 on a MacBook 2.4Ghz laptop, 2GB RAM, OS X Version 10.5.7. Back in February, I purchased a Numark OmniControl at Mobile Beat Las Vegas from Six Star DJ. There was a Numark rep there who PROMISED me they would be releasing a new update of Cue that would have native support for the OmniControl. It's now been 4 months and... still no update. I know there's a midi plug-in that's available that gives me about 60% functionality, but I want it all to work like it does with other software. For example, the plug in doesn't light up the buttons or give functionality to the preset buttons like Traktor or MixMeister, the software included with the controller.

I've submitted emails to Numark as well, since both products are marketed by them, but I've yet to hear anything back. You'd think they'd have a vested interest in making their products work together seamlessly! At this point, I'm about to send this OmniControl back to Six Star DJ for a refund. Please advise either on the forum or in a private message exactly what the hold up is on a formal update. If there are no plans to release a version of Cue 6, and OmniControl support is native in Virtual DJ 6, I'd like to download a demo and/or get a licensed copy of the upgrade.

We are currently quality testing V6 of Cue.

We spend a much longer time to test major updates of the product and commonly our findings are used to make an update to VDJ.

Once this is complete it will be available free to all existing users.






 
Following up... almost two months later and a whole 6 months since I was first promised it was "just around the corner" at the Mobile Beat DJ Convention in Las Vegas. Any updates? I'm about to sell the omni control on eBay or return it and be done with it!!!!!

We are working closely with VDJ to ensure that V6 is working optimally and hope this can be made available soon.

There have been some delays as issues where found in the beta releases.

Allot of progress has been made and will be used to release a VDJ update and Cue 6.
 
I just upgraded to the new 6.0.2 Mac version of Cue and in the config, under Mappers, there isn't an OmniControl option, just Keyboard, Ns7 and Simple Midi Mapper. What's up with that?

As you can see the OmniControl is there. Make sure you have the following drop down menu set correctly.

it actually dosnt help me... because even after the driver is installed, cue still refuses to detect the omni control despite the fact its plugged in.
note: the show only connected devices feild is un-checked.. :(
what the hell is going on with numark?
 
I also have the same EXACT problem with this Omni Controller. Bought a Brand-New, out of the box, OMNI controller, and the Brand-New, Raved-About VDJ 6 and while the menu does have the option for a Numark Omni controller, the software is not recognizing the unit, even after installing the drivers from Numark's direct website 3 times. the audio works from both the back and the front headphones, but none... I repeat, NONE of the buttons work. It is like VDJ doesn't even know the Numark sound card is an OMNI Controller too! I am kinda bugged and would love a nice little tutorial from Numark/VDJ (you are all owned by the same peeps) that shows me how to get this working. And, in case you ask, I have gone in and checked the midi settings in my mac, and they are all up and working. Thanks for the consideration, DJ Brady Mac
 
Well, Damn I'm just considering buying an Omni Control because Total is almost hit the bricks. but, now that I read so many problems. I'm almost second guessing it. I love CUE and the controllers Numarks makes but, WTF I may add is going on? I'll do all I can to continue to have CUE before to every use Traktor. Traktor is kool but, I'd have to take time off from DJing like 6months just to learn it. Unless Numark is going pay for me to live while I learn Traktor? haha. This Issue with Omni and Stealth better get fixed quick. It's the year 2010. I know I'm flying around in space yet but they can make phones smaller than a lighter. They should be able to fix a small software problem or don't realease till you have all worked out..... OI whata rant. I'm buying a Numark product in March. Hopefully you all have fixed it by then.
