Lately VDJ video freezes but the music is ok, it continues to play properly. I deactivate video in configure then reactivate and it works fine for a while then freezes again. It doesn't freeze using karaoke, only vobs and mpegs. It worked fine until a few weeks ago. This computer doesn't get hooked up to internet but only when it needs updates. I noticed that sonique is no longer working either. I have it set to automatically come on for mp3's but it doesn't turn on at all. Again it was also working up to a few weeks ago. Any help would be fine. I've been out of town so I havent had time to spend looking for the problem. Any input would be grateful as I am using it tonight to Dj/Karaoke.

Sounds like a Hardware Acceleration issue ... make sure it's checked in the Config -> Video tab... if it is you might be starting to experience some hardware issues. But before jumping to that conclusion ... updating the video drivers might be a good start ... they may have become corrupt.

If the Computer doesn't go on the net why update it?
Other users have had troubles doing this - chucknorrisisyouwimps being one that I can think of off the top of my head.
Try a system restore to the system settings before the problem started.
My personal Gig rig doesn't get updated at all

Sounds like one for the technical forum to me.

I have the same problem with my back up laptop. Karaoke works fine, videos freeze but the audio keeps going. I will see if there is a video driver update. Let me know if there are any other solutions.

I updated my video driver twice after it started happenning but it never got better. I will take my video card out and clean the fan. Its a 3650 ati series card. But I don't believe thats the prob either as the computer never freezes playing videos using other software. I got the sonique working again. I did have something called force video clicked on in catylist that gave me other problems with vdj and just turned it off tonight. Will test at the job....

Do a test for me, next time it freezes, load a video to the other deck, does it release the video and move on??? I had this issue when playing mpeg2 and avi. I have since deleted all my AVI and had no issues. Let me know.

Hey atomix, how about just fixing the freezing and green lines problem? Rework your video driver from scratch. You cant sit there and tell me its a hardware issue, when videos, and even graphic intensive games work perfectly normal. The video issues only happen when the video passes through your codec. Please explain that. Why am I able to use a random free codec off the net that works, and your codec either freezes or has green lines on some systems?

^ out of all the people posted in this thread, he was the only one to say these words. He hasnt specified the problem, instead he went on a rant about his problem, not giving suggestions to the op to fix his. If you had read some other threads, giving help is what this place is all about. I can tell you first hand that theres not another forum nor group of moderators that will openly listen to our problems everyday and so respectfully give suggestions. If you disapprove of this way of things and dont find our product worthy enough to give compensation to the developers, i dont believe you deserve our respect if you give none.
hope to see you as a pro user nevertheless and try out the program yourself before jumping on the bash bandwagon.
and to the OP... does your whole program freeze? or just one deck and the video output? do you have a video effect running during audio only files such as slideshow or clipbank? this has proved cpu consuming for me.

I did a test... When it froze I dragged another video to the other player and the frozen video flickered for half a second and froze again. After the freeze I had other issues like the loading of all songs became slow. I rebooted and tried the same video and it did it again, the original vid is a mpeg not avi. The same vid works great using windows media player and others. it's gotta be a codec issue. I have tried everything. The next thing I will do is rerender the vid to another type or same tpye to see if it works. Unfortunitely, not much time to fool around with it but I need my system to work nightly.

With respect to the team. Having posted my problems of Sunday 7th regarding deck 1 freezing where by the pointer on the deck 1 was in a static position but vibrating and when playing stuttering whilst deck 2 was playing Video fine, also I mentioned the terrible distortion intermitently on deck 1. The reason why I repeat this here is that no resolution came forth and having read the postings its becoming obvious that testing VDJ 6 hasn't been stringent enough. I rolled back to 5.2 and the sound issues have been resolved as with the freezing.
A question come to mind. Was VDJ tested on Vista after the SP2 release. Was the Beta testing done mainly on XP software.
Having done system checks over the past two days I will run the same play list from my two Sunday gigs on my high end system to see if there is any repetition of Sundays issues. However until reported issues have been resolved I stick with 5.2 for my Venues as problems were becoming rare.

Yeah it probably is a bad rip or a codec issue, I would try what you suggested and see if it does it OR EVEN rename to .vob and retry it.

Hi, have you tried changing the mpeg codec in vdj to "windows media player"? Or if it already is windows media player, it might be worth changing it back to "video decoder".

I am having the same issue ever since i downgraded from vista to xp because of firewire problems. videos play fine in quicktime or winamp. if i have one loaded in deck A with accelerator on it plays fine. if i load a video in deck 2 after about 4 seconds one of them freeze. if i move the cursor on the frozen video it moves again for a second or two then freeze. if i load a dif video into the frozen side the new video plays a few seconds then freezes. if i turn acc. off i loose all effects but videos don't freeze. I only hope it is something fixable i would hate to have to go back to shitsa and i can't get a windows 7 key anymore or i would go with that. that works great with cue and vdj on my AV editing tower. any mods have input on this issue?
