Topic: Getting better DMX lighting control by integrating Daslight or ADJ My DMX into VDJ

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I think it would be great if Virtual DJ could work along side a stable DMX software such as Daslight or ADJ MyDMX - Especially if it could be worked so that their new daslight virtual screen plug in works within Virtual DJ's plug ins... Then you'd have a rock solid DMX lighting product that's controllable WITHIN Virtual DJ... No more jumping from screen to screen to control the lighting.

It would be great just to hit the effects tab and have an extra lighting section so it would be

Sound Effects
Video Effects
Lighting Effects
External Devices

With the lighting effects cut down in to sections on the left such as

Shutter
Movements
Gobos
Colour
Misc

Must be possible some how especially as the Daslight Virtual Screen is controlled by a .DLL file - from what daslight say anyway...

"The DVC2 GOLD, 512 and ECO 512 have a new graphic tool called “Daslight Virtual Screen”. This tool uses the “Daslightremotecontrol.dll” communication to command the DVC2 software through a customizable and easy to use human graphic interface. You can easily manage and trigger all your visual effects directly with a touch screen. You can create and customize the human graphic interface depending on your customer's design and requests."

So any of the Developers think it's possible or fancy having a try and integrating it :o)

I couldn’t agree more with your comment and like you say there is a remote control available so why can’t it be integrated in virtual dj I have a separate pc to control my lighting but if it wouldn’t put to much of a load n the processor I think it would be great to see it integrated in to virtual dj

There are seperate discussion threads on this on various forums. Please search for DMX and join in where necessary.

Cheers,

Roy
