Topic: BEATPORTS BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE... HOPE THIS IS ALLOWED TO POST... ALL FACTS

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

HOPE THIS POST STAYS... FREE SPEECH... AND THIS IS A FACTUAL STORY...

to sum it up... i buy at least 10 to 20 tracks a month from beatport for about the last 2yrs... all i ask is listen to what i have to say and pass it to the artist about the quality of the track...
the day in question i purchased 18 tracks... 6 sounded like i was spinning using blown speakers... that's how bad the recording was... sent several emails to beatport so we can asset the situation on hand... well
after a few exchanged emails they basically told me sorry you are out of luck... they said "after listening to the TRACK we've come to the conclusion its audio is fine" not in those words but you can read the email down below... same garbage i just typed... so they say TRACK... IT WAS 6 TRACKS!
so then i sent another email stating what 1 track it was 6...
sent another email... no response... AWESOME!
at the end i finally said... what am i just suppose to forget about it... and that was that...
still i buy some tracks from them but i am now using everybody else... and wav are cheaper with everybody else...

junodownload
dancerecords.com
juno
trackitdown
dancetracksdigital
djtunes etc... you get the idea... i'm sure they can give a ratts ass if i ever buy again... so that's why now after 2wks i'll just tell everybody what terrible customer service they have along with that new website that really SUCKS!

The email:

hello i was speaking to tina about my issue and we lost connection. after listening to my purchase for today i noticed alot are distored.. not in a good way... so i redownloaded with beatportdl and IE same result.

my cache is cleared etc.
as we speak i am redl using beatportdl.

again i listened and they are recorded to high... my issue isn't a refund.. i want these tracks for sure...

i know the artist send you there tacks so this in no way being directed towards beatport...
everytime i had an issue beatport was quick to act on it so thank you...
so these tracks i really do like and is a must to be part of my collection... so if you listen and agree that they sound like crap please dont forget to let me know

when thier are new copies...

["]Hi ,

Unfortunately, our research concludes the intended audio for this track is intact. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please note that we do not normalize, re-

master or engineer our files in any way. The music available on our site is a true reflection of the received file. As the standards of quality differ for all labels, so

will the music they produce. Releases available from mainstream artists are expected to be mastered well simply because they are likely to have the resource to do

so. However as Beatport continues to proudly support the music of independent artists/labels, this may not be certain. Not all masters are necessarily a fair

assessment of our artists’ standards, but rather the resources available in producing them. However be assured that when a faulty catalog file is discovered,

Beatport and our labels will replace the track in a timely manner.

For good measure, we have re-authorized the download in your Beatport Account Library under “Ready to Download”. To enable the download, please check that

your security settings allow pop ups and permit the transfer. To ensure its completion we recommend tracks be downloaded one at a time. Please know you will

not lose other pending downloads by doing so. Our site also gives a 4-hour availability window for attempted transfers in your “Re-Download” tab located in your

library.

Please be sure to delete any corrupt or damaged versions of the tracks from your computer before redownloading.

Don't hesitate to give me a shout if you have any further questions.

i didn't say the file is corrupt... the recording levels are to high so even when it's played at a lower decibel it sounds distorted... did you go through every track
that i said was distorted? redownloading isn't going to help... already tried that 3times with the same result...

Order Number : 4753073

77229
77106
75811
75290
75289
75238
73188
73187
73168
72949
72550
69483

it's not 1 track.. it's all of these tracks. played at a high or low decibel it's distorted... so it's not my connection downloading, or anything else on my end. it's the

tracks that needs to be remastered.

if you listen to that whole order it's impossible not to notice that 6 of the 18 tracks are recorded well and the others sound distorted.,

did you guys listen to all those tracks i am having quality issues with? or am i suppose to just forget about it?

well i'm starting to share my business with other websites... last night i bought 12 more tracks from them... half sounded like crap... so do i complain or just put these tracks in the not usable folder?
unbelievable with all the money evrybody makes their are so many bad recordings... you know if it was me... i would listen to my tracks over and over again to make sure they are perfect...
when i finally become an Artist/DJ my tracks will never have a quality issue... my audience at least deserves that much from me... esp with the economy being so poor why would i allow hard working people to get screwed like that... mine as well drive in your car with the window cracked open and empty your wallet out while driving

Not being funny but if you put your hand in the fire and got burnt once, and was told it did not burn would you do it again?:-(

My experience with Beatport is that its the worst of the DJ download providers...

Well my experience with Beatport is the complete opposite. Used the for well over 2 years now, nearly 3 years I should imagine, only had one little fault with there service in this time.

IMO they are good, and I have no worries about using them in the future too!!!!!!

just dump them, only sensible thing to do if your not happy with there service...

hey i'm just trying to get the word out so they at least look into the situation...

the email they send out is automated with the support guys name.. complaint resolution is already drawn up... not saying they don't read them... they have resolved downloading issues in the past for me...

this is a whole different ball game... don't you think that the artist would lke to know that yes their tracks are selling but the quality sucks... they will never hear their tracks in the club from somebody like me who purchased it through beatport because of the poor sound...

wouldn't you have a problem if you are putting out track after track and nobody is playing your music?

sure i can just stop using them... ok so then they keep making money and people who are still buying are getting stuck with bad tracks...

like i said most of my collection has come from beatport... some tracks are questionable but i can still play them... then you have the stack i can't play... it's growing... so beatport does nothing to rectify the problem and i need to spend more money through another site...

come on... everybody who looks at this and says... oh just move on... must have a lot of money... you just don't care or maybe you don't stick up for yourself... or you just really don't love the whole music artist dj world enough to make some noise about an issue that can be easily resolved with some effort on beatports part to communicate with the labels that sell on their site...

your last paragragh, thats a bit all encompassing there ain't it, you asked, we answered, if someone is giving me crap service and they are giving ample opportunity to rectify it and then still don't come up to scratch, of course i am still gonna give them my money and then delete all of those crap tracks to the bin i've just downloaded, not, i'm gonna go out and find a better provider, simple as.

right i have been sharing my purchases with other sites... it's just pissed me off how they give an A-hole message...

not like i was asking then to fly me to the moon or swim the atlantic for me... a little communication and common curtesygoes a long way...

COMMUNICATION may be what we want, but that, unfortunatley is not the way of the new electronic, media and software world. The new way to do business in the electronic world is hide behind unreturned emails, no phone listing, use all your purchasing customers as beta testers and guinea pigs, bury your head in the sand when there is a recurring problem and most importantly if the problem is happening to a significant number of already paid customers by all means tell them you don't owe them anything as far as information or service once they have given you their money for your product or service.

To be sure there are some good companies out there run by good people....but they are becoming a rarity indeed.

The internet has it's definite advantages in some cases, but for retail business, for the most part give me brick and mortar offices and real people who are responsible and you can go face to face with when their sh*t doesn't work as advertised.
