Topic: Numark DMC-2 and external mixer

Hello everybody.

Is there someone that could help me sort som pieces out?

I have tried the VDJ trail and love the program. I have been looking at some options on how i will proceed.

No 1 option is VDJ Pro, turntables and TCV. (Used to be TT user)
No 2 option is VDJ Pro CDJ's and TCCD. (Tried this at a friend)
No 3 option Numark DMC-2 and upgrade CUE to pro.

I have been thinking of option 3.
Its small and price is right for me as i just want to play smaller gigs at friends partys and so on. I don't want to carry around a lot of equipment.

So now to my question. I have tried to read the manual for the DMC-2 but i didn't quite figure out what i needed to hook it up to my external mixer. (The only thing i have left fom my DJ time just sitting in a box and ready to use :( )
I have a Hercules Mk2 that iam playing around whit at home (2 hand so the s/n is already reg. on this site, thats why its not in my profile) Could i use this the same way as i have seen sombody do whit TCV and TCCD, use it as soundcard for DMC-2?

You could use the DMC2 for transport control and the MK2 as a mixer soundcard.

Alternatively if you would like it all rackmounted, a CM200 USB may be for you, its a mixer with a built in soundcard.
 
So if i get it right. If i got CUE pro witch i must have to run external mixer (i think ) i can run my normal mixer via the herc and use the DMC-2 as the controller?
I got a good 2 channel mixer so buying another mixer is not a option at this moment, maybe later, i have looked at some of the Numarks as i think they are in the range of money i am willing to spend.
I am just doing this for fun :) not aming to get the big gigs, that time is over.
Sorry for the stupid questions but i need to be shure before i buy.

Yes that is what I do with my DMC2 and mk2

I use the mk2 just for the soundcard and my DMC2 to control the software.

I have decided that the DMC-2 will be my next equipment investment. And mabye later the Numark C3 USB.
