* Status update *
Made some changes in functionality.
- Balance function removed but it's very easy to add for people who wants it.
- CUE function changed to switches. There is also a CUE summing bus added.
So if you want more input channels it's very easy to add them.
- LEDs removed an nice VU-meters added, i finaly found some nice ones at a good price.
Components ordered and PCB design in progress.

Well, this is not really a commercial project. First of all i will set up a project website Where i will publish Schematics, PCB-layouts, detailed "How-to" instructions, Where to get components, PCBs,Front-panels etc. The primary goal is to make this available for DIY people.
But i might think of selling built and tested PCBs and hard to get components in small series, if there is an interest for it. Building the PCBs are no problem, It's drilling the enclosures that is really boring ;-) But nothing is written in stone.
But remember, for me it's not about building a mixer to get a cheap one. Then you can get a cheaper on Ebay. It's about building a HQ rotary mixer to get something that you can't buy today, or if you can find one is really expensive. Sure, you could use cheap components also, but i will not do that.
Some component examples:

This is the Channel Volume Potentiometer ordered and that i will use: ALPS RK27A (Blue Velvet) :

PCB design is in progress at the moment. But i want to do them as generic as possible. So i'm thinking of the best way to add new features/mods later also.
What is the most important "new" features it should have or be able to support ?
Like:
- Bass/Treble EQ on each input channel
- Rotary kill EQ on each input channel
- Master Effect send/ret volume potentimeters
- Input Gain on each channel
- Effect send/ret on each input channel
- Tape Pre/Post effect switch/output
- Balanced Booth out.
- Built in Isolator
- Mic EQ
- Etc

Since im now doing the PCBs as modules (Inout/output etc) it's possible to use any enclosure you want. It's also possible to have 1-6 input channels depending on enclosure space. I will do 3 different input modules and 3 output.
Input:
- Std (Balance function, or skip it with adding a resistor)
- HP-Filter
- 3-band EQ
Output:
- Unbalanced
- Balanced No transformer
- Balanced using Transformer (PCB will be for Lundahl Transformers)
So it's possible to combine these in any way.
My own first version is using the small HAMMOND enclosure. It's a 3 ch + Mic and it will have the HP-Filter input modules. This is how it will look like. MIC and Headphone vol is on the front.

My choosen functionality is to be used with VDJ . AUX for samples. I really like the Hi-Pass filter function that is in A&H V6.

Nice ;-) I can see that it has an Isolator also. I will build one also and add as an effect in the Effect loop.

In the 1620 project ... would be nice if there was a V module but also contained a Balance knob. This is one of the issues I had with the A&H V6 vs. the Urei. The Urei (U Module) has the balance knob, but the A&H (V-Module) had Gain and Hi-Pass -- a marriage of the 2 would be ideal - in my book. A new UV Module ??

The current input module functionality is taken from popular commercial mixers. But Sure, The design is modular "plug-in" so it's really easy to make another one also..
