Topic: M-Audio X-Session Pro - USB MIDI DJ Mixer Controller

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

It been a while since I have been on the forums and I'm not sure if this has been asked but can this Midi Controller be used with VDJ? I had a friend use it with Tracktor but wasn't sure about VDJ. Its affordable and easy to travel with. Please let me know if its good?

Thanks!

You can use it, just need to map MIDI control and you are ready to go ;)

DJ ALF,

Have you used it before?

No, but users here on the forum reported it is working fine, for that price of course ;)

Is there a how to set up on the forums? As far as the effects and such? Like a DIY.

Open config and then remote control.
Right click on General Midi
Click activate
Then Click Config
Here you will assign each of the player's features as you would in keyboard shortcuts by moving the knob, button or fader/slider to sent a value to the program.
Then click add, move the button or slider and find the appropriate assignment for it.

Click ok after all assignments have been made and you should be set.

Thank u! I cant wait to get this now. Xmas/birthday gift (for self) !!! Time to start rocking again!

been using the x-session for over two years... have been reliable.. and yes it works
was a good investment.. cheap yes.. but does the work

especially if you doing vids

If you like effect buttons and already use a controller, this is a better choice imo.
They are getting hard to find now, as they are being discontinued.

i just got the new nanopad ... one in the series of nano controllers from korg ... very simple to map the MIDI controller. its awesome! i highly suggest it

Hi, i like to now were i can buy a remote that you can remote manual

is there any word on how responsive it is? any delays or anything?

Great device, the X-Session Pro. Never used it for a gig. Used it to make and record a mix to file.

ok quick question not sure if this is right place to ask but can you have 2 midi devices (a controller and something else ) controlling vdj ?

Yeah I run my Mk2 along side my Evolution as Rick pictured above.

any links on how to set that up????

Im getting a slight delay in VDJ, but in SSL its dead on.

its a milisecond off...so drumming, or even doing cues "just right" is hard....you have to play a lil catch up with the pitch

Ok, after soooo loooong, I got it!!!

Now, yesterday night I started playing around with it and notice that i would still have to use my external sound card or does this replace it using only my laptop and m-audio x-session pro? Help me out here!
