which is better?

Centrino 2 is newer platform and like first edition it is ment for power saving in laptops. You have no benefit for DJ-ing.

They are completely different things.
Core2Duo = CPU
Centrino = Marketing speak for a particular combination of components that may or may not include the Core2Duo as the CPU.

technically theres not much difference as intell owns both centrino and core duo, along with others but personally i think core due is better than any others out there and is defintly better than AMD and its been proven in tests, but as long as its intel you cant go wrong!

My above post explains the difference between Centrino and CoreDuo. A Centrino system could have a Core2Duo, or another Intel CPU. Equally a system with a Core2Duo could be a Centrino, or might not be, depending on the other components that make up that system.
Finally - avoid Intel Celeron processors like the plague!

So Intel mobile technology and possessor should be core 2 instead of centrino on the laptop for sure? Because Core 2 is better.......than centrino in every way that would benefit a DJ? I have seen laptops online that mention both centrino and core 2.....is that a trick? Im planning on buying a laptop......online its one of the few that says Core 2, twice. Does that mean that that laptop is ALL core 2?

centrino is the processor platform
the core duo is the actual processor
i have heard that the best right now is the amd turion

Turion is the best?? Are you kidding? There is no better CPU from AMD compared to Intel, Intel is way ahead AMD. AMD holds just 17-18% of the x86 CPU market whilst Intel is over 80%! That explains all ;)
And new Intel Core i7 is on it's way:

I don't think you're understanding what I'm saying.
Core2Duo is a CPU.
Centrino is not a CPU, it is a collection of components that comprise a marketing platform.
The two are not comparable. At all. One is not better than the other, because they are different things.
A laptop can be Centrino and Core2Duo yes. Some Centrino systems will have the Core2Duo as their CPU. Some won't.
Oh, and (unfortunately) Intels current mobile offerings are well ahead of the AMD Turion line :(

Centrino = Intel Pentium Mobile processor(i.e. core2 duo), Intel chipset, Intel wireless card.
If the system for example has a Broadcom wireless card, then Intel Proc and chipset, then it is NOT a Centrino system.
