Topic: Gold plated USB 2.0 gimmick or not?

Sorry if this is a silly question

I've just seen some Gold plated USB 2.0 cables,

Are they better than the normal USB cables, (like gold plated RCA cables are with audio), or is it just another gimmick.

Gold is a very good conductor Jimmy....but is the average user going to notice a difference? Probably not....just like the average person is not going to hear the difference between copper and gold speaker wires....
 
correct terry, got a couple of gold leads my self that came with the equipment and you can't tell the difference, just hype in my ears...
 

I've got gold interconnects on my home system, and there is a slight difference (better) in audio quality than standard ones.
