Hello to all the experts and helpers,
I have bought the Hercules RMX system a few months back for a little fun as a bedroom DJ - I also upgraded to the Pro version of VDJ5. Since i have improved enormously and i have impressed myself a lot and friends.
Since i have improved i am beginning to find a few flaws from the two together and this is why i am asking for you help.
Two things that i keep spotting:
1: - the crossover - when mixing two tracks together - when the crossover is in the middle - i lose output sound to the main PCs - this is mostly annoying as this can be heard a lot - is there any way or some settings you can recommend to avoid this?
2: - this is more software issue, but some of my MP3 don't load properly in the bar and the graph does not show. would this be a CBR vs VBR issue? any patch to fix the VBR issue if this is the problem..
3: - finally - when you search for a song in VDJ - a lot of the time when you load it form the search results it says error. and when i go to the folder where the file is it works, exactly the same MP3 track..
If anyone can help and also give me some good settings or patches to try out - this woudl be greatly appreciated.

crossover = check your sound card setting
scan = your search database is not uptodate when you move a song not using vdj the data base wont change meaning the song still show in the old place on the database thats why you get error and if you got a drm song and you dont have the rights to play it it will also cause an error message
what i normally do with the search database i will right click the driver where the music is and select remove from search DB then i will right click again the same driver and select ad to search DB this will update your search DB
as far as the drm music with no play wrights you need to update your play wrights or delete them
i was having the same problem uplaoding songs to vdj decks it will take for ever and the sound graph will not show up at all or very little i did a scandisk and no more problem

What do i need to check in the sound card? Would not know where to begin..
Also when you mention the details of the song not showing up in the bar - (i dont use DRM music) - its either CBR or VBR MP3s with no protection at all. By updating the DB where my MP3 are stored will fix this problem? even when the song does not show the graph...

sounds like you have a problem with your tags. your tags need to be redone. Use a software called Tag & Rename. The will fix your problem with your mp3s. If you cant find the software goto digitalmixdj.com ,register, goto the forums and download it. If you use that version DO NOT UPDATE.

Hi,
Will give the tag program a go this evening - i was using MP3tagger prior - maybe its not as good as this one.
I am still needing help with the cross over if anyone has a solution that woudl be great.

when using tag&rename make sure you do a test batch of files first better safe than sorry.

I'm not sure if this is what you're asking for, but try this for the Crossfader issue:
config > Options > And set Crossfader to "Full"
config > Options > And set Crossfader to "Full"

Hi,
thank you to both of you - i will reply with the settings tomorrow when i plug my console in as settings diffrent when not connected...
I have also set the control to full in the options that i will try tomorrow if this has fixed the problem

After a lot of playing around and using Tag& Rename that did not really help at first - the problem was i had to re-analyse the tracks BPM... once i did this it loaded properly showing all the music graph correct time and bpm value in order to mix properly - so this issue cured and had nothing to do with either cbr or vbr..

I don't know if RMX comes with a quick start in your system tray but if it does, pull that up and check on the fader cross settings. Sometimes when I use Time Code I change my settings and forget to pre-check settings as what is required for the next event.
