Jimmy,
I already have some purchases I'd like to make at Beatport. I have never used a service like this before.
How does it work for:
Can I download at home and transfer purchased tracks (MP3s) to the club PC?
Are purchased tracks only available through their online interface using my account?
Are purchased tracks always available? -- or are they a timed purchase, i.e. (4 hours) per purchase???
..... a little uneducated on this stuff - THANKS FOR ANY HELP!!!

it's a service owned i believe by Traktor and it integrates with Traktor.....i have some dl's myself , i believe you just pays yer money and use yer music unrestricted , unless that has changed... for certain clubs and genres it could be useful , it's not really useful to a mobile guy like me
i think you sign up for free and then just pay as you go , every things a' la carte...
the 4 hour thing is just for strippers ..... i hardly do any stripping anymore , unless Tayla calls

they are mp3's(or wav if you wish). you own em, they play/move anywhere and last forever. if you lose them you can redownload everything. range is $1.49-$2.49 per song. sometimes you can also get full releases (usually compilations) for a discount.

Actually rusmokingtoo, if you lose the MP3's you have purchased, you have to re-purchase them. You have a four hour window in which to re-download a song you bought. It is a part of the agreement they have with the labels. There is a lot of great dance music on Beatport.

beatport is NON DRM so download them, save them, back them up, burn to cd, burn to dvd, edit them, install on the ipod...the pc...the club pc...give em to moms for christmas....whatever you want just be sure to archive them because like any computer file when it's corrupted or gone it's done!
Just for background beatport was started by a bunch of the dance music Dj's in the Denver area int he early 2000's and unless they sold out to trakktor they are not owned by trakktor just have a close relationship with them. The have expanded to be a pretty nice site, I would actually use them much more if I could find a club in Phoenix/Vegas/LA that played dance music and actually PAID there Dj's....for whatever reason (probably because there are maybe a dozen clubs with a capacity over 200 left in the US that play a lot of house) all the "house" dj's here in America seem to be willing to play for free just so they can be "True" to their preferred genre...that really sucks when you don't live a t home still, have a couple of car payments, a mortgage, retirement investments and actual living expenses!!!!

Also Beatport isn't just for new music. There are a lot of house classics out there from labels like Strictly Rhythm, Nervous, and lot of other labels older househeads would remember.
