Topic: What online music source do I use?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.



At the club where I'll be working, the owners want dance music - Dance Remixes, House, Trance, etc. They want little to NO pop, urban or rap. What would be the best source for Dance Music, including popular charted play, etc....??

Also, what is the cost for any mentioned online music sources?? Do you pay by the month or yearly? Can a wireless connection work as well as a hard wired connection?

All is well here. I got the computer built for the club owners I will be working for. This PC seems to handle things very well. They also bought a Hercules controller. Just last night, I GOT IT!!! I had been mixing for years on 1200s, and just last night, I got the PC mixing thing down pat! I must admit - even my grandmother could mix in a matter of minutes with a little lesson on beat mixing.

With this clear assistance in beat mixing provided by the VJ interface and the Hercules Controller - I must ask - WHERE DID ALL THE BEAT MIXERS GO???!!! In my area, very few club DJs are beat mixing any more - sad...... It may be the depressed area in which I live I guess......

you could always give them my number... lol

put a google out it will give you loads of sites, try promo only, mixmash, vvj etc... hope it helps

Which country are you from, also are you talking about audio (mp3) or video.

I got all my House/Electro/Trance/Drum & Bass from a few places. Here's a few

You can also sign up for something like Napster. There files are WMA DRM protected, but if you don't mind this it's a good way to get a big collection fast, also the do play good in VirtualDJ.

As for video, I don't do it yet, but someone will help you on that one.

Internet provider like Napster will be fine, if they offer a great selection of mainstream dance and remixes, house, trance, etc....
I can also work with music provided on CD. I heve been looking at Promo Only just now......

I want REMIXES - extended plays with breakdowns,,,, etc..... what is the best source for this, and how much are any related costs.

Does music that you download remain on the PC? And when you mention any coded protections - is this to keep me from taking the music off the PC for play elsewhere??

QUESTION - If I make a purchase, do I have to make the purchase AT THE CLUB and download on their PC there? -- ( Can I transfer purchased downloads from my PC here at home to the club PC???

Then I think Napster is your best bet mate. I started using Napster when I first used VirtaulDJ.

They are pretty good really. The have alot of House and Dance music, and they do have alot of Club, Extended mixes also. Go to there site and have a good look around mate.





 
uuuhhhh i agree w/ jimmy.....

remember, jimmy's list is good , butt every item on the list is good for something ( which someday we hope to discover) different from the udders .......

i'm sure you can get some good lists for that here ..... and , even though i know you want GOOD lists ....i'm gonna give you mine

i just use amazon, ( just mp3 ) , venue vj (vids) promo only ...audio , video , ( also club series fer instrumentals and accapellas ) ( accapella in latin means spinning rims for my chariot )

and in the category " is this legal " there is the occasional crooklyn clan ....... these are very uneven .... sometimes really good , sometimes really cheesy

just an hour of fun inside the dashboard .... will somebody please shoot the guy or the robot on the assembly line that attaches those inner protectors with the foam lining ...... and the attachments that make getting the foot brake release outta yer way .....after you shoot 'im i want my turn

first thing you do is clip the wire to the horn/alarm inside the hood so's ya don't go deaf ... what? deaf ...what?? deaf ..... see what i mean

next no matter how jammed in under the stalk you still gotta be able to see the lights flash or at least hear the relay clicking ... what?? hear the relay clicking .. what ?? see what i mean

anywhoo ... listen up Beethoven ... i'll shout it at ya ... you can learn anything here ......

Perfectbeat and Masterbeat are also good choice for club/dances mixes. Both sites you can listen to all the remixes before purchase. Masterbeat is $1.99 per track, Perfectbeat is the same for 320 files, less for lower quality. Use both sites here, big selection and current

i fergot about ultimix .....those r good , a little more expensive than promo but they are a' la carte , just odor whatcha want when ya want
