Topic: Transfer Virtual DJ settings from one computer to another?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I have Virtual DJ installed on both my computer and my laptop. With my laptop, I use it to DJ parties. With my computer I use it to practice and I find songs to add to my playlist then transfer my new folder with my music into my laptop. What i was wondering is, is there any way to export the information that virtual DJ has on my computer to my laptop? Like on my computer's virtual DJ I have cue's set up to where I need them and also all information about my songs like Title and Artist. Is there a way to copy these to my laptop without having to do them manually? Thanks.

Hi
If you bought VDJ enter your serial in your profile to get Updates, addons etc.
You can transfer all info that VDJ collects during scanning (BPM, Volume Level etc.) by copying your database file that is located in My Documents (Or users on Vista), the file is :VirtualDJ database.xml".

Where else might that database be located? My Documents has been deliberately user defaulted to a different drive (D:) and it's not there.

FYI: Video files are stored in an external IEEE1394 enclosure (T:). VDJ Program is in default C:\Program Files\VirtualDJ folder.

What is the typical database file name and suffix?

I use the same type of desktop/laptop setup. I use the desktop for practice/organizing and the laptop to work events. I just copy the virtual dj database file from My Documents, then copy any new files over to the laptop in the same folder structure as on the desktop.

My question is can you somehow save all of your cuepoints on your laptop/event computer and merge them to the database you are using to update? Every time I set a cuepoint at an event it gets erased in the next database upgrade. In other words I would like to syncronize the two databases rather than just copy.

My guess is that there is no way but if anyone has any ideas, thanks.
