I always have used BPM Studio and had no problems w/ seperating the channels house, headphones, players etc.
Now I have Virtual DJ which I really like but I am having a tough time having the main channel playing out and the other channel used for sampling a song without it playing over the main speakers.
On my sound card there is a volume wheel that works for the mini jack closest to the keypad. The other mini jack is on the other side of the card and the volume is not controlled by the sound cards volume wheel.
I want to have my headphones in mini jack that controls volume for soundcard so i can preview the song. On the other jack I would like to play the music out of the house.
What should my settings be for outputs? 2 sound cards or ASIO? Output is External Mixer right?
It seems so easy I just want preview a song on my headphones without it playing over my main speakers. Can anyone help? Every time I preview the song it goes through the main speakers. Should I have 2 mini jacks going in 2 lines of my mixer and have my headphones in the mixer? Or one mini jack going into the line of the mixer and headphones in the echo card directly?
Also what channel do i mute? Virtual out or analog out 1/2 or 3/4? I'm so confused. Can anyone help?

I haven't used mine in awhile, mainly for backup in case my m-audio interface messes up. Lemme see if I can get it going:)

Bah, don't have the cable I need at home to test on my setup.
But the setting I have:
Inputs: None (I use TCCD, but not hooked up now)
Outputs: Headphones
Sound card(s): Mono Separated
Sound card: Indigo DJ 1-2 Virtual out (Might wanna swap it out for 3/4, can't remember)
Output channels: Master: Left chan / Headphones: Right chan ( or swap out for other option)
One of those settings worked in the past. Hope it helps you some :)

Just by playing around I was able to mute to prevent bleeding from sampling a song but I was not able to hear it on the left and right hand side of the headphones. It's still not working grrr! I was desperate i even sent an email to echo indigo's tech support. The answer is very general to be expected.
- Within Virtual DJ, make sure you're routing your players ( House mix
and Cue) to two separate virtual outputs.
- Open your Echo console and use the selector bus ( A 1-2 and A 3-4 )
and your virtual output mute buttons to route your audio.
I understand the concept I just cannot get this card configured properly. I wish I can see screen shots of how my Ech Consule should look w/ mutes and fader settings w/ virtual dj settings. Anyone else with this card that are currently using it?

Another thing in echo console are my fader supposed to be opposite of each other one to the far left one to the far right?

This sucks I hit preview I can hear the house and the preview at the same time. It seems that I stopped the preview from bleeding over to the house but I cant just get the preview on both the left and right hand side of my headphones without hearing the house.
