Topic: Carlsbro Speakers, Any good. - Page: 1

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

The place where I do my friday night gig, the manager has ask me to source some new Speakers out for him, the ones that they have now old JBL's although they still kick ass, are dated.

Been looking at a few makes, one of the makes are Carlsbro. What's do you people think of them.

Never heard of them..... Check out WWW.Carvin.Com Good speakers and superior price

I'm in the UK,

but thanks anyway Caliente.

They have recently been bought out by another company so my speaker info source told me, he then went on to say the quality had gone down hill.

I have some Cerwin Vegas for sale 15's £375 & dual 15's £650 as new they are less than a year old, selling due to cock up. If you want we can meet half way I'm at Wetwang East Yorkshire, I also have a Peavey GPS 3400 amp for sale £575.

HI

I've been told they are mostly a budget range.

So it depends if your question is..

are they good?

or

are they good for the price?

Being over seas from the USAm I would recommend KV2 or FBT

In my opinio, the carlsboro are not the best, if you can afford them, get some mackie srm-450 or RCF equivilants.

You can also try Pro Logics from Logic Systems http://www.logic-system.co.uk They are the dogs dangly bits, but very expensive. I've had mine for a fair few years and have never had failer yet Excelent sound that everyone comments on.

Thanks everyone, As i said I've been looking at a few makes.

@questar, they look awesome speakers, will be showing them to the bar manager to night before my gig. And I will find out what sort of budget I've got to play with.

@ jimmy

if theres not too big of a budget you could always pop round to halfords or any car accessorie shop and you can pick up a couple of decent ones that are designed for the parcel shelf, there's some good bass bins for the boot as well...

binatone are not that bad... for the price

hope that helps... i'm on the floor again, pick me up!!!!!

What does that mean, had to many snakebites or are you still on the floor and can't see the keyboard properly. lol

Dynacord makes some good stuff (Germany) that should be available in the UK. I also like FBT (Italy).

If you get a stupid large budget, go with Meyer speakers and be done with it... best I ever worked with.

Never heard of Carlsbro... (I'm a bloody Yank!) Is that a European only brand?

HOP

@jimmy b Just send me a PM and I'll see what I can do for you. My mate sells and installs them so he may be able to help you out. Send me a PM and I'll email you his phone number and you can sort it out between yourselves. I'm currenrtly stuck in Brussels at the moment.

@questar, Thanks mate.

As soon as I know what sort of budget I've got to play with, which I'll find out to night I'll send you a PM.

Cheers
